Default Corvette driver profiling???

Do you ever get the feeling that regardless of how awesome our cars are, how well they perform, how impressive they look, what a tremendous value they are, and how much pure fun you have driving them.......... that people kind of look at you a little funny?? I have over heard comments about how people would not own a Vette because of the immature, cocky, slimey, perverts, etc. that usually drive them?? I just don't get it. Any Corvette event I attend I meet very nice clean cut and polite people of all ages and various professions. How did we get that terrible profile? Oh well. I don't plan to give up my pride and joy because of that. I just think the perception is completely wrong.

I am a first time Corvette owner and I disagree with that notion. The same concern can be placed on Porsche and other sports car owners.

I'm pretty sure they're the firebird/camaro/mustang drivers. At least in the movies. With the vette you get a more refined image, still maybe a cocky hooligan, cleaner and most likely republican...yet could be a closet pervert.

Immature maybe

Then again, the driver yesterday in front of me in a NEW Mercedes SL500 kept on taking off FAST from lights in front of me was no better.

He stopped when I got next to him and gave him a blast from my Long tube headers and Corsa Sports

As far as mature, I actually got next to him at the next light and I took off gently as street racing is dangerous.
To his credit, so did he.

I just wanted him to know I had a little something-something under the hood for him.

Seriously, WHO CARES WHAT PEOPLE THINK?

Yes, many Corvette owners are POSERS, and that is OK.

I owned a Bright Yellow Viper GTS, all I can think of now is that commercial where the guy is in a Viper GTS with a megaphone saying

"I'm making up for my shortcomings"

AND I DIDN'T CARE THEN and I DON'T CARE NOW!

Down here in Florida, most people think the Vette is for older men, than drive them like a snail.

I gave my 68 year old father my 2005 YELLOW C6 Vert with Magnaflow exhaust for his 68th birthday.

HE DRIVES IT LIKE A SNAIL

I wouldn't give any special status to someone just because they drive a Ferrari or a Lambo. I would appreciate a fine car but that's it.

As for others 'profiling' Corvette owners.....I think many people look at a Corvette and simply appreciate a beautiful car while some are certainly a bit envious. The motorcycle cop simply sees a likely citation and a good source of revenue.

No.

I've never overheard anything remotely resembling those comments.

I think our profile is just fine.

Oh well. I don't plan to give up my pride and joy because of that.
I would hope not.

I think your perception of others' perceptions is incorrect.
