The body shop says the fender needs to be replaced, and the hood, fascia, and door need to be blended in with paint.
Yup.
Or you could be cheap about it, just have them paint the fenders like 90% of the people who do the Z06 conversion. Then people will point their fingers and laugh when you are parked across the lot because your car is different colors.
Let the insurance company take care of it, it's not your fault anyway it won't effect your insurance.
[QUOTE=C6 Chick]I still have the paper plates on it, thanks to the CA DMV - I purchased the car in August, it now has 6,000 miles on it I still have yet to recieve my plates, talked to the DMV three times about it already.
Your Dealer may have your plates. My plates went to my dealer and they mailed them to me. once in a while that happens.

From past experience have YOUR Ins. Co handel this. This is the only way you have a chance to get a good repair. The other Co. will nickel and dime everything. Just my $.02 worth.
I agree with having the repairs painted to match (versus blend-painting) but I disagree with having your insurance company be involved if at all possible.
Your insurance company bases their rates on a huge database of statistical information, not only about your car (type, color, tranny type, hp, modifications, etc.), other cars in comparison, incidents in class, etc. but about you....age, income, employment history, demographics, credit rating, frequency of incidents, etc., etc.....ad infinitum.
Anytime you are involved in an accident (irregardless of liability) they become aware of, especially one in which they have to expend any resources on in your behalf (such as to subrogate damages), you run the risk of being re-rated. This information is thrown-into the statistical mix that determines your rates.
I know of someone who merely inquired about an incident with his carrier (Geico Insurance) he was involved-in and he was immediately re-rated upwards. He didn't file any claim whatsoever....he merely inquired about his coverage and an accident he was involved-in and that fact alone (in his case) tipped the scales.
While accidents of this nature may be “why we carry insurance”....rest assured you're better off in the long run by not using it when you can possibly avoid it.

The insurance industry as a whole is way overdue for an overhaul, it currently is administratively bloated, draconian, inefficient and just plane sucks IMHO. Its time will come.

Something similar happened on my homeowners policy for our Vacation house. Our pipes froze and I called the Insurance Co to inquire what to do, in the end it cost me about the same as the deductable so I didn't submit a claim. Four years later I had a big claim and they used that and the previous unsubmitted damage as a reason to cancel my coverage. When that happens NO ONE else wants to cover you for any sane premium. I ended up having to sell the place.
What an idiot that was. I guess all the mirrors and training on how to pilot a vehicle were useless. That is why I bought a cheap truck to drive visiting especially if parked in the street to eliminate idots. Wow I would be extremely p&&&ssed about that and I bet she would have driven off had no one been there.
State Farm usually quotes low on the first estimate. Take it to the best bodyshop in your area and if the cost is more they will work it out with State Farm. State Farm is quality insurance and I don't think there is any need to get your insurance company involved.
