is there a poll here where you would or would not have your car detailed by the dealership?

I don't recall ever seeing a poll about dealers wash jobs, but I think you'll get more recommendations to ask the dealer not to wash it.

Do it yourself, in most cases it's safer.

Default "Dealer" prep ? ? ?

If your "dealer" is the National Corvette Museum (R8C) you have NOTHING to fear.

The dealer is best at selling cars and service. That's it.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I get enjoyment from detailing my car. I always have from when I was a kid to today. It make's me appreciate the car that much more, and it's done my way with lots of TLC. I can also see if there's any problems like stone chips, etc. IMO I would never pay someone to do what I like doing.

I've seen this subject come-up before but I don't recall a formal poll about it. Why don't you start a poll?

I personally would not want a dealership to detail my car. Although there are some good people working at most dealerships, for the most part, the dealership experience does not instill much faith in a satisfactory outcome.

I like to clean and detail my car. I know it’s done ‘my way’ and I have a feeling of satisfaction and accomplishment when finished.

Default poll

thanks for you guys replies. i did call the dealership and asked if they will take the car to a professional detailer but said no, they have their own and that he said they take extra care on the corvettes, hmmm? at first i wanted to have them clean it that way when i pick up the car, i could easily see if there's damage to it or not. worried that if i don't have them clean it and bring it home and do it myself and discover one, they might claim that i caused the damage, if you guys know what i mean. it all depends howdirty the car is. seems like the plastic is transparent, so i guess it'll be easy to spot if there's damage to it.
but again after reading most of the posts here in the forum, majority voted not to have them touch it.
the car comes with a protective film, and i was told the glue is easy to remove during washing? anyone share their experinec during the process?
i finally decided for them not to wash or wax or polish it but probably just remove the protective film so i can vew the car better for any scractches and leave the interior packaging as well.
this is my 1st vette guys, so i hope the delivery will run smooth with no problems. wish me luck and Happy New Year to you all!!!!
