Default 06 buy used I'm I crazy

Many people have the need to buy a new Corvette that no one els ever drove, I cant see taking a 15K hit or more for that feeling, I just got a 06 Covt. LOADED for 49K , the color the options every thing I wonted (loaded), It has 7K miles with a 100K warranty. Hay! 7K miles and saving more then 15K plus shipping and what ever els. I can live with that. I'm I the only one that thinks this way ??

"...I'm I the only one that thinks this way ??"

Hardly....there always seems to be an active market for used cars and IMO there's nothing wrong with buying one.

That being said, I don't have a problem with purchasing a new car. I always pay cash and I tend to keep them quite-a-while.

If I have to do it, I will. I've never had a brand new car, though. I'd like to see what that's like.
Even if used, she'll be at least a '06 C6, though....

Nope. I bought my first two Vettes used, and I was shopping for a used C6 when a great deal on ordering a new one fell in my lap, or my C6 would have been bought used as well.

I bought new one to fulfill a goal from a long time ago that "one day I am going to go into a Chevy dealer & plop my money down on a brand new spanking Corvette". It's more of a personal thing to me than a money thing.

Mission accomplished. Another thing checked off of my life checklist.

I don't worry about taking a depriciation hit on it, as I tend to keep cars I like for their entire usable life range, and finally get rid of them when they are pretty much worn out & worthless anyway.

Never buy a used Corvette. The ceilings are always all beat up with high-heel marks.

I did purchase mine new because I wanted to do that with my very first Corvette. But from here on out I will buy them "almost" new.

I bought new,but got $7K off price and it was at least $10K cheaper than the ones my local dealer has.I feel that it was a good choice. I've bought used cars in the past with mixed results. My opinion, if it's still prestine and no performance mods have been done, go for it. If you know for sure or even suspect it's been raced or modded , don't buy.If anyone's gonna kill my car, it's gonna be me, not some 17 yr old who owned the car before me, who's Dad took it away from him for mis behaving.

People buying C1 or C2's are all (used) Corvettes , so buying a 06 (used) to day that is un=mod like I did and perfect meeting the first owner made sense to me!
I'm not poor but seeing 06 and yes even 07 already selling used having little mileage ,are these people having to much money and wont the first of every thing that just hits the market or did they made a big payment mistake.

Nothing wrong with previously owned! The Vert is my first new Corvette. Hard to get a NCM delivery used though

Me too. Patience pays off. The right "pre-loved" car will come along. I would have been thrilled if mine had F55, but it was not a "must". Otherwise, mine was exactly what I would have ordered, and I saved about 13K (I bought from a individual so I didn't pay sales tax in GA). It had 7500 miles on the clock, vert, Xm/Bose/Nav, power top and also GM performance exhaust and tips had been installed as well. Most importantly, it had a squeaky clean Carfax!!

I like to buy used. New cars take the majority of their depreciation the first year.

Hence why C6's are now in the $35-38k range but $44-50

I'd feel better about buying used if people could be reliably counted on to relay the full history of the car. Paying few thousand more is worth it to me. Hey someone has to manufacture used cars!

I would never buy a sports-car used. The previous owner probably drove the snot out of it and even more so when he decided to unload it.

Me too! While shopping the entire country for a good buy on a low mileage previously owned C6, I found a dealer willing to heavily discount a new '07. For just a little more, I finally realized my dream of a NEW Vette. I swore several years ago that I would never buy another new car and would let someone else eat the depreciation. Never say never.

ibought a new c6 coupe but knew when the verts came out i'd want one made a deal with the dealer to trade in the coupe for the vert for almost what i paid for it( family friend and i'm in the car biz) so when theverts came out in early06 i think i told him to get me a dsom vert 6 speed hud xm etc he said no problem.i checked with him after a month or 2 he said the order hadn't been picked up yet by the factory so when it eventually came in it would be some time after the fourth of july. i said the hell with this and thanks to the forum found the exact vert i wanted with only a few hundred miles on it i bought it immediately and have enjoyed it almost trouble free ever since( ps the owner of the dealership kept the one they ordered for me but didn't get it until months after i got mine. so i always get high end cars used ( that's how i got the xk8) i'm driving so let others avoid used but it's what i look for
