I live in the Phoenix area and I refuse to go to Barrett Jackson. It's way too hard to see cars that my friends and I used to own go for that much! Back in the late 60's we had Boss 302's, Superbirds, Z28's, even Cobras. I passed on a 63 split window with a fuelie engine for $1900 because the insurance was too expensive!

I bought an original,ugly *** green 283 automatic 1957 CHEVY BELAIR CONVERTIBLE,in 1975 ish,for 250 bucks.I don't have that car anymore,and I have a red *** from me kicking it so much!!!
I think everbody in our age group 50 plus has had the same thing happen buy those hot rods sell them raise up the family.
We all have been there, I guess thats the driving force for the bucks they bring today a connection with the late 60's early 70's WOW weren't they some good times.
Hate to hit everyone with a downer, but the Barrett Jackson may be at a point similar to where the real estate market was over a year ago. It will be interesting to see how the prices hold up over last year. Things were getting a bit "out of hand" with huge prices being paid for all kinds of "clone" and "reproduction" muscle cars. We are getting closer to the bursting of this bubble. Talk about speculative excess, it is all at the Barrett Jackson. There is a downside to all this and if it doesn't happen this time, it is coming.
I have said the same thing every year of Barrett Jackson when will it end. I'm a realtor the housing market has slowed from the high it has been on but its like the stock market it needs an ajustment maybe it will come this year.
I just bought a 07 convertible for a little less than 65 thousand that in my mind is nuts but I paid it becouse I wanted it. Thats the same as B-J

I was thinking about going but if I brought home the 40th Anniversary edition Cobra (made for Shelby himself) my wife would divorce me. Besides I could likely find a similar Cobra at a better price elsewhere...without the auction induced bidding frenzy. The bidding seems based on the 'greater fool' theory.....that there will always be a greater fool willing to pay more than I did. Anyone want to buy a tulip...cheap? It might be fun just to go checkout the cars.
sighhhhhhhhh.... i can remember in about 1970 passing up a deal on a 62 vette without an engine for $900.00.. thought it was way too much for one an engine.... awwww, the good ole days..
