Why your stock C6 is slow...
I took these pictures when I installed the headers on my car. It's easy to see why by just adding headers you get extra torque and hp.

I was under the impression that the factory exhaust flowed fairly well. I know that most people change because of the sound.
How much of a difference in torque did you pick up with the headers? Did you do a before and after on a dyno?

Did you check the weight difference too? I've read where you lose 20lbs from the front end changing to LGs from the stockers. I weighed one of the stockers off of mine and it was 26lbs.Thats 52lbs for a set, so does that mean the LGs weigh 32lbs a pair?

The stock manifold does not flow that well. The intake is much better than the C5, but the exhaust is no better. I am not sure about the exact numbers on my car, but there was a DEFINITE increase. Side by side compared to my dad's '07 convertible the cars are VERY different.
My long tubes are LG's, and he probably has some info at his website.
Most people don't add headers for the sound but for the power. Sound is what the catbacks are for.

I almost left my stock exhaust on once I heard them with the headers. I didn't put the headers on for the sound though, but for the power. The sound was a nice side effect.

I don't know what a stock manifold weighs, yet. But I do know that one of my American Racing headers weighs 12 pounds. It doesn't even seem like that much when you are holding it.
