Default So impressed

Having been driving the new Vette since Friday, I just wanted to express my opinions on the car.

I am a major "car guy", getting at least 2 or 3 new sports cars a year. I have always been a P-car fan, occassionally fitting in a Maserati or Jag. When I bought the Vette last week I was actually leaning towards getting the Aston Martin Vantage, which I think is the most beautiful car in the world. But something kept pulling back to the Vette.

Almost a week later, I realize what that was. Everytime i look at the Vette the shape looks more exotic to me. The car is just phenominal to drive, the exhaust note is intoxicating, the low-end torque is amazing, the handling is outstanding. The most important thing is, as an owner, you feel like you can drive the car everyday and enjoy it without ruining a piece of art and feel that you made an intelligent decision financially.

I love this car!!! My only complaints are that a few body panels (hood especially) don't line up perfectly and the gap tolerances of the panels varies from point to point. But for 1/2 the price of most comparable cars, you can live with the imperfections.

Just a great car and I am proud to be part of the community!

I also love the vantage but somehow I would think that if I bought one some people would think look at that ***** driving that expensive car-he must be a real ahole-you know. So glad you like the vette and you saved a lot of money to!

Congrats on the new Vette. If you ever get tired of the exhaust note, as in too quiet, there are lots of more intoxicating ones out there (I have the Corsa Sport, and love it).

I flip in and out of them, but always keep at least 1 911 at all times. I currently have a new Turbo on order, but the Vette is now and will be my daily driver. I paid cash for it and plan on keeping it for a while.

I honestly felt that the Aston Martin Vantage is about $30,000 over priced. For the same money you can get a very well equipped 911 turbo which is in a different league performance wise but still just as classy. Plus, Jag XKR is quicker, more comfy, and $40k less than Vantage.

The Vette is just so practical and gives you so much for the money, it just doesn't have a natural competitor. The car is unreal.

I am going to do slight mods (grille, vent covers, exhaust plate) but nothing performance wise. As a daily driver, especially with the F55 suspension, it is just about perfect.

I'm glad you like your C6 despite the poor-fitting body panels. You must have hit a bad day at the factory (my 'fit and finish' is excellent).

Wow....you buy 2 or 3 new sports car each year! You must have a huge stable of sports cars or then assuming you then sell 2 or 3 sports car each year....you must take quite a hit on depreciation. I'm guessing this financial loss would surely exceed the price difference between the C6 and the AM.

Accordingly to Jaguar....the all-new supercharged 420 hp XKR is a tad slower than the stock C6 but admittedly, the lines of the C6 IMO rival those of any exotic.

As you are discovering, I think you will enjoy your C6 as much, if not more, than most any other sports car. Drive safe and enjoy.

Since it is a concern to you, and you intend to spend additional money on 'mods', let a body shop align the hood, etc.

I would think the hinges would be adjustable or could be shimmed to come to a perfect alignment. Also the doors could be worked on if they do not please you.
