Default Call and ask the Tough Questions

I agree with previous posts that best to call and ask whatever dealer you go to if they can handle high performace tires. And then watch them very closely. I started a thread recently about trouble with local Goodyear dealer and balancing tire. Long story short - he said imbalance was caused because I didn't put rim back on rotor (same lug holes on same lugs) exactly as it came off, he called it "Match. I had never heard of such a procedure (nor had anyone else on CF) and even wrote to Goodyear and Chevrolet. Experts at Chevrolet said he was wrong. I made them rebalance tire (they never did it after repair) and Goodyear has promised to reimburse me. Won't go back to that dealer any time soon!

Thanks, I remembered your post that was one of the reasons for me asking the question.

Bumb me, I never gave it any thought until now that spring is perhaps getting closer.

rakuhn,
Thats one of the reasons I really like this forum - I've learned so much from other owners. I accidently left off part of the phrase in my reply - it should have read "Match Mounting." Good luck and remember the WAVE.

The one thing that works for me is to show the guy who's doing your job a 20 dollar bill. Tell him its his if he can change out the tires without scaring the wheels.
