Except the way I remember it if I was on my Kawasaki and they were on a Harley I usually got a different wave or none at all.
Been riding bikes for 25 years (always a Honda, currently a VFR). Used to be all bikes would return the wave. Within the last 10 years or so, it seems that Harleys (and sometimes wanna be Harley's) won't acknowledge a non-cruiser.
I cam from the bike crowd to and think it is funny. Most every car i've ever driven there has been a wave but I think motorcylists are the least picky at who they will wave at. they wave at anyone on a bike
as for the Corvette wate here's one from CO
I'm with you! I used to wave at (and receive waves back) from all bikers. Now I'm lucky if I even get a smile, much less a wave, from a fellow Vette owner.
It varies for me, one month it's 50% waves returned, the next it's 80%. I've missed 1 or 2 myself slipping into condition white a couple times (smacks self).
I thought the same thing ... until I caught myself missing other vettes. Because we're drivers we tend to focus on the task at hand, looking well down the road, making decisions, responding early, feeling the road/car ... unlike the mere occupants of driver's seat in other cars. As a result I sometimes don't take note of an oncoming vette ... and I immediately hope they were enjoying their drive like me!
I get about 5% of my waves returned when I'm driving my 65. Then again, the ones that don't wave aren't even looking my direction - they are usually focused on their cell phone - and they might not even realize a 65 is a corvette.
We'll see if the percentages change when I start driving an 07 to work in 2 weeks.
I drive a C5 and a C6 and I have not noticed any difference. I most always get and send a wave. However, there was this one time this guy who had a C5 that was all pimped out including neon lights and spinners pretended he did not see me when I was in my C6. However, I don't think he was a "true" vette connoisseur. Couldn't be, he WAY over did it with all the bling. It was the ugliest thing I ever saw. It was jacked way up in the back. I suspect it was outfitted with the suspension that jumps up and down. It was literally bouncing down the road...
