not easy to wave on a crotch rocket, all your weight is on your arms

not easy to notice other vettes on freeway paying attention to traffic on your side

With each new year many folks get in to what could very well be their first Corvette. Many don't know about the wave. Those of us that have come up through the generations are a little more used to it.
Maybe a warning notice on the first page of the owners manual and within the first 30 seconds of DVD that first time Corvette owners who fail to render a wave to a fellow Corvette owner will receive an appropriate punishment (i.e., DBS, Service Column Lock, etc).

Continued failure to will result in increasingly stronger punishments, i.e., crank bolt failure, rear differential failure, etc.

But wait...that won't work because these things are happening anyway so I guess the floggings will continue until everyone

See it all the time. Sometimes not, but mostly because people just don't see you. I know I've seen another Corvette go by in the opposite direction and missed giving the wave sometimes.

Here I am, top down, ostentatiously present, right at her driver's side window, and she won't even look. Then just for kicks I tried to get her attention with multiple arm waves...nothing! Made me look like a real idiot to all the other cars around. She had to have seen me - impossible not to; she just would'nt look for whatever reason. I felt like giving her the middle finger wave , but she probably would have ignored that as well. What's up with some people? Oh, well...I'll keep trying.
Problems with return waves from female drivers have come up before. Some are due to discomfort or fear of giving the wrong impression, some are simply due to the car perhaps not being her own and not even knowing about the wave. It happens. Just keep trying. Most owners will wave back, not all drivers will.

Last summer vette goes past and the girl waved, my wifes quick response.. "who was that?" I just said, "some babe in a vette"

On my Harley there's a wave, below the bars, THere was a wave in my Jeep Wrangler. Didn't know about the Vette wave until I got my first one on the way home the first day. It just came natural to me after that. Girlfriend's response, "You guys wave to each other in these too!"

Yeah man, do not fear! The wave is alive.
I just got my first Vette Feb 9th and had my eyes peeled for the first Vette I'd encounter. Well about 250 miles later there it was and there was my wave. Felt great. It's been another 1000 miles since then and I've only seen two other Vettes but they two both waved.
Keep it going! Save the Wave Just kidding, the Other wave.

Alive an well, but i think this time of year is tough...atleast in the midwest. I have had mine in storage all winter, and now that i have started trying to drive it regularly again I forget that I'm in the Vette and should wave!

I'm still in look and gawk mode at any passing vette.

I think I'm going to have all of my salesman make it part of their delivery process...

Here's how you start it,

Here's how you use the Nav,

Here's what you do when the battery dies...

Oh and here's how you wave!!!

I waved at a C5 and C4 this week, but no return wave. I always have my tinted windows 75% up, plus both drivers were pretty much looking ahead and not at me.
