I made the mistake of having my driveway sealed and now my vette is trapped inside the garage for 3-4 days!!
I dont know if I am going to be able to wait that long. I found myself sitting in the car inside the garage making engine noises with my mouth. My girl thinks that I have lost my mind.
you should try living in Minnesota... I am not even going to tell you how weird some of us get around valentines day waiting to wake our cars up from a long winters nap
Haven't you always wanted an escape door in your garage? I don't recall having to wait 3 to 4 days to drive-on asphalt after its been re-sealed (or even new asphalt for that matter)....maybe a day or so. Ask your contractor but I'd hose it down frequently to expedite the cure process. If need be get some plywood to lay down and drive over.
i also sealed my driveway 2 weeks ago, i only waited to the following day, then backed my vert. out of the garage, no problem, driveway was dry, and no tell tale marks left on the driveway.......
It was a little more than just a sealer. I have a pretty long driveway that goes up a little hill (say 7-8 foot rise over a 20-25 foot run (kinda steep)). I had a couple of pretty bad spots that had to be torn up and completely redone.
Contractor said that the combo of the new drive and the hill he recommended that I stay off that section for a couple of days.
The temptation of driving in the grass to get up the hill is starting to get to me.
Since you're already thinking about doing the grass run, you might as well go for it and do it now so you get the maximum benefit (as opposed to waiting and doing it the day before you were ready to drive on it!). Grass will grow back fine in no time at all.
Well at least you can sit in yours. I am in Africa and I bought my new roadster about 2 weeks before I had to leave on this trip. I can't wait to get home and do some serious driving.

ok, so try this, first you must have at least a queen size bed, take the bedspread off the bed, and lay it gently on your driveway surface, next back your vette out of the garage, making sure to drive over the bedspread, last and most important, make sure when you return the bedspread, place it on the bed, with the tire marks facing down....

I waited 3-4 days before driving on my driveway after it was layed down and then the same amount of time after it was sealed. It looked to good to want to put tire tracks on
Did you do much research on the sealer? I'm wonder if one is better than the other or if a certain proceedure is better.
Thank God for the Spurs!! The bball game is helping take my mind off the car.
slvr & Tri - I think that would be a tough one for me to pull off. My girl loves the new vette, but I think that she is starting to become jealous. Especially when I told her I was thinking about getting vanity plates that read "BACHLOR"

:o
i can only guess, with a line like that, there will be no peace in your house tonight......
(The jeep got parked on the street in the rain - The vette gets to sleep in the garage for a couple of days)
Eddie - I used to live in Laurel 'bout 10 years ago. I lived back off of 216 right off Whiskey Bottom. I was back there last year. Man did that area change. That back road (I think it was Gorman Rd) used to have a really fun stretch to run thru at high speeds.
