Vandalized!
That's true. I make sure not to leave ANYTHING in sight...not even loose change. My car was broken into one time and it was while visiting Houston for a car show.

I feel like I know You even though We've never meet!!{although You do have a "piece" of My vette in Yours}
Things happen,and it could've been worse!!
The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
My gf had her Civic's window busted out because she left stuff on the seat.
Again, sorry for your trouble, that sucks...

I was very luck because only last weekend I picked up a set of GM Z06 chrome wheels & tires and the wheel lock key was still in my center console. (see pic below) Not that that would of stop a pro, but I have the full set, 5 locks per wheel. Not to mention the Maggie sitting under the hood and my Steath Box in the rear, or my top.
Also, for those of you that don't live in this area, it's been raining EVERYDAY for what feels like the last month. It's common to have a heavy shower in the early morning hours, but fortunately we had a clear sky's today. Could you imagine walking out hours later after a morning rain shower to find my window busted out??!
It's all good, I learned a HUGE lesson from this experience. From now on she stays INSIDE!!

It's locked away in the garage now, all cleaned up.

Not really sure what I would do if that happened to me. Luckily I live near Atlanta and it is a shoot at will city
If it was an inside job it will eventually surface as to who it was. Good luck finding them
..I am sorry your having to go through this but atleast you have learned your lesson as you stated. Don't leave the vette outside. Defiinately, do not leave anything inside the vette in plain view...

As to leaving things visible, I agree; it's not wise to do. I leave my GPS window suction connected but take off the unit and stow it. Still, I think a desperate thief will go for the car nonetheless. It's a risk.
And this is coming from someone who lost all 4 wheels and tires (and damaged all rocker panels) on his car one nite in front of a townhouse in an upscale neighborhood. Same kinda window damage as yours, but they also ruined the door lock to pop the trunk and get the wheel lock key. They knew where it was, so it was an inside dealership theft.
I like your way of thinking, but I would be grabbing my Glock......
-Sorry about your loss man, and I can only imagine how you felt when you first saw the damage......
