Sorry that happened to you.

That is not the way you want to start your day.

Good for you to wash her up anyway!

That's true. I make sure not to leave ANYTHING in sight...not even loose change. My car was broken into one time and it was while visiting Houston for a car show.

Sorry about the damage and the theft. Do file a police report. There's not a lot of 'bright side' but as was said, it could have truly been vandalism on a grand scale.

If you can...park the car out-of-sight in a garage as well,

Horrific. The first person I came in contact with after seeing that would be very, very unlucky.

That pic makes me reaffirm my determination that no matter how tired I am, I always put the vette in the garage before I go to sleep. It's only been out 2 days since i've owned it in the past year

Btw, I never leave my Valentine1 in my car unless it's parked inside my garage or at my work... and even then, I'm thinking of taking it out.

My gf had her Civic's window busted out because she left stuff on the seat.

Again, sorry for your trouble, that sucks...

Man, things have changed so much in our area. We don't have a guard, just a keypad and these kids on summer break are allowing there friends to roam into the neighborhood at all hours of the night. Once they have the code, that's it....anybody can get in. If it happened in a parking lot, I could kind'a understand it, but in our own driveway??

I was very luck because only last weekend I picked up a set of GM Z06 chrome wheels & tires and the wheel lock key was still in my center console. (see pic below) Not that that would of stop a pro, but I have the full set, 5 locks per wheel. Not to mention the Maggie sitting under the hood and my Steath Box in the rear, or my top.

Also, for those of you that don't live in this area, it's been raining EVERYDAY for what feels like the last month. It's common to have a heavy shower in the early morning hours, but fortunately we had a clear sky's today. Could you imagine walking out hours later after a morning rain shower to find my window busted out??!

It's all good, I learned a HUGE lesson from this experience. From now on she stays INSIDE!!

It's locked away in the garage now, all cleaned up.

That really sucks my friend, there's always some a**hole around .Maybe my wife can now understand why if I do take my vette to a public place it is always in my sight. Well thank god it wasn't more damage done.

Man that sucks! I agree with posting a reward. I would post up a free PS3 or XBOX 360. They would be giving up their own mother for that!

Not really sure what I would do if that happened to me. Luckily I live near Atlanta and it is a shoot at will city

If it was an inside job it will eventually surface as to who it was. Good luck finding them

..I am sorry your having to go through this but atleast you have learned your lesson as you stated. Don't leave the vette outside. Defiinately, do not leave anything inside the vette in plain view...

When you bring it to the glass company, tell them how important it is to you that they clean up the broken pieces from inside the door panel.

I'm with saboo, there is such a thing as weird kharma out there. Those sucker(s) will pay and they won't really know why, or how.

As to leaving things visible, I agree; it's not wise to do. I leave my GPS window suction connected but take off the unit and stow it. Still, I think a desperate thief will go for the car nonetheless. It's a risk.

And this is coming from someone who lost all 4 wheels and tires (and damaged all rocker panels) on his car one nite in front of a townhouse in an upscale neighborhood. Same kinda window damage as yours, but they also ruined the door lock to pop the trunk and get the wheel lock key. They knew where it was, so it was an inside dealership theft.
