'08 Jetstream Blue...
Just nice to have options and if you choose something different, you will be able to enjoy this new color...thta is the tough thing though..all the Corvette colors look great on the car....the problem is, we need more than 8 choices..
not to worry it will not replace our traditional red, black or silver...
either one you get ....just sit back and smile man!
Let me know if I may assist with your order when you are ready

JSB isn't my favorite color, but I will have to see it in person before I can say for sure.
I think I will go for silver, as much as I liked the LMB..well, it isn't offered anymore
The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
and I usually don't like the Blue's (I don't care for the DARK blue/s at all ) but this
JetStream Blue Looks Pretty Awesome!
Someone else here mentioned maybe going with the JSB with Red & Black gut?? Any OPINIONS on that combination?

This is one of the chameleon colors gents. Unfortunately the sun was low and about to go down in the next 15-20 minutes When I first walked up to it....I thought it was ho hum. It just doesnt wow, but is interesting to look at. You just look at it trying to decide whats going on with that color. As the sodium lamps fired up in the street lights, the color soaked in their yellow/orange light and took on a hint of teal. As it got darker out, the color never faded to black like the LMB does which is one of things I was not fond about LMB or any dark blues. It is a fully retro color like no other offered by other makers. The pictures cannot capture this cars color as it varies with ambient light. Its not as light or baby blue as it appears in many pictures as it has more color saturation. Cheap CCD's in low end cameras combined with unkown monitor setting that have been used to date appear to make it look poopy. Its not, but it is unique and definately not for the faint of heart. I now understand why the AO and Yellow crowd tend to like it.
As I have read in other forums, the only concern will be how this color is perceived in 3 -5 years. It may look dated and some may look at it and say, "oooh...its one of those colors from 10 years ago". But nowhere near that of the purples and forest greens of the C4's from the mid 90's. That is the beauty of a retro color I guess. Time will tell how well it ages.
My last 2 Z06's where quick silver. EB is my favorite, but never could find one. As I stood there staring at the JSB vert and a MS coupe next to it, I was conflicted about JSB for the half hour I stood in that spot. Classy versus this color that did not grab me on first glance. I found myself trying to like the JSB, maybe a wee bit disappointed. But as it reminded me of some 60's colors and its uniqueness combined with my recalled boredom over QS, I stayed with the JSB.
I am returning tomorrow to see it in direct sunlight, am bringing my camera to get some good high res pics. If they turn out well I'll put em on up.

I am SERIOUSLY looking forward to your High-Def pics tomorrow!!

Your 1/2 hour of staring further proves that this is a 'FRUSTRATING' color to critique - has been since it was announced that LMB would be cancelled.
Just guessing from the existing photos, it appears that glare from bright lighting makes the silver metallic pop out of the base coat, thereby making the whole car look like a light, powder blue. The glare of a camera flash may be over-emphasizing this trait. Then the tintcoat further accentuates every cutline and those aqua hues show up. Under muted lighting without any glare, it is just a richer, medium blue.
Does that sound like an accurate summary of what you saw?
BTW - thanks for the write-up!

The teal / aqua is evident in the tint as you move around the car and you notice it at shallow angles. But as there were sodium lamps its hard to say as they do tend to effect blues. I also think background influences this color. The color chips that Rick has with a white background and next to LMB, it really made the color appear very aqua as opposed to powder. Since its a between color (not red shifted like EB), if its against reds it will appear more aqua, and if its against a green as in grass, it will appear more true blue.
I really pay attention to the background colors and see how the red items turn out in the pictures to know if the CCD had bad saturation.
I find this an interesting color as red and green shifts to blue are the most difficult for most folks to pick up and blues that have less red shift get perceived as green. Its a great color for those that have some degree of color blindness and they will probably hate this color.
I'm trying to figure out what I can take with me to put next to it for reference....
That is EXACTLY like JSB...from the pics I've seen anyway. I suspect that that color above maybe a little more glossy...but then again...I haven't seen a waxed-out bright pic of JSB. Other than that...it looks identical. Same blue, same highlights, and same hint of aqua. Now the interior in that pic is another thing. I like the light off-white, cream. It's more cashmere than the titanium, and more titanium than the cashmere. A warm white...if you will. THAT's the interior for JSB!!!!!

Funny how our ideas about colours change over time ... once we see other shades of same color.
IMO .... E.B. was the best blue ever made. But, glad they don't make it anymore. Any colour ... if overused ... can become boring. Generally, the rarer the colour ... the more I like it.
Thats why A.O. still looks good to me. But, maybe one more year ('08) ... and GM should kill it ... to protect it as a cool, shortrun color.
