Default C6 Window Tint

Hello, I am thinking about tinting my windows but was told that the backwindow on a c6 corvette gives off a silvery look on the top part where all the dots are, does anyone have a picture on what they are talking about???

You dont really have to worry about that. Its just a matter of finding a good tint shop to do the job for you. I went with limo tint in the rear and medium (35%) tint on the sides.

Some people elect to put a piece of black vinyl over the dot matrix (thats what all those dots are called). Your call on that. I would look at one done by the shop you are going to on a car with a big dot matrix before making any decision.

Happy Tinting!

I don't think I'd put vinyl over the dots nor would I have someone sand them down....just find a tint shop experienced doing Corvettes. You might even ask your dealership to see who they use or recommend.

I have a very slight imperfection in a short, narrow strip along the edge where the dots are most pronounced. You have to look hard to notice it and it doesn't detract from the appearance of the car. For me, it wasn't 100% perfect but it was acceptable. There is no 'silvery' look that I've noticed.

Make sure you take it to a good shop! I've had my windows done twice the first place sucked, oh so I regret taking it there!

But definitely go with Limo tint!

Happy Tinting!

I had black vinyl put over my dot-matrix and it looks outstanding. I don't think you could get the tint to look this good over it.

You can see the little halos around some of the dots. Hardly noticable from more than a couple feet away, though.

Use the vinyl!! It will make it look 100% better. The problem isn't really the installer. The problem is that those dots do not allow for the film to lay down on the window. They generally end looking really bad. Just my .02

Default tint

The black vinyl is the way to go, if done by a professional tinter. My guy put the tint on the whole window 1st and it was unacceptable. He then hand cut out the tint at the top and put in black vinyl and it looks outstanding. Limo in the back window. 33% in the front.
Cheers,
Pat
