New '08 victory red. Orange peel on inside flap of gas filler. This isn't just a little bit, it is completely orange peel. Something a 4 year old would do with a can of paint, or worse. Cannot understand how this could leave the factory as when I took delivery in BG I saw how carefully the exterior paint work was inspected. The exterior paint job on my car is very good. Perhaps they just missed it somehow. If so, this is a glaring error and I wonder if it is covered by the warranty.
....if it's on the inside why bother....you'll wind up replacing it and the color match won't be good and things will be worse than when you started.....
I completely forgot that if it is replaced, the outside color will not match. If they take it off to repaint it, they will probably scratch the outside of the filler door.
Best I leave it alone. No one else but me knows its there. I will learn to live with it. Thanks for the advice.

I have to ask. Are you serious? Who is ever going to see it? On a similar note, the underside of the hood is not clearcoated.
I guess you are correct, I am being ridiculous. I was just comparing my Ford GT and my '04 corvette conv. to my '08 vette and was surprised at the paint job. The GT has some body parts misaligned a little bit, buy hey, it's hand built. What is GM's excuse for a mass produced part that is common to all corvettes? However, I am not going to beat this to death. Not worth it. Just a little disappointed that there are things not proper with the vehicle. I must say that I drove my 2004 conv. and never had one single repair. The reliability was beyond any cars that I have owned in the past, and I have had them all, including several M-B, BMW, Lexus, etc.

Sorry to have even brought this up.

People may laugh, Leon, but it's your car and it's brand new. You have a right to expect it to be as close to perfect as possible. Once we start to notice something not quite right it can seem as though it just keeps growing as a problem. I'm sure that tendency has hit most of us, for something or other not quite right on our car.
After reading this post I ran out and checked mine. He's right! My 06 has massive orange peel too. To make matters even worse, the area where the hinge bolts to the lid there isn't even any paint there.
