Twelve hours and counting.
48 days after I left 'Atomic' in Miami, I'm collecting her in the morning and the anticipation is flowing
through my body like a raging torrent.
You've all been there, the night before collection - it's very special and the muscles in my face are
tightening into a fixed grin.
The next chapter starts tomorrow and of course...photos follow!
Cheers everyone.

Excellent colour choice
My sister married a Brit and he’s a great guy. Met many of his mates at the wedding in Cancun, most live in the Black Pool and surrounding areas. Will be great to see the AO vert in England. Keep us posted!

Monday's reunion went smoothly, the paperwork was all fine and then there the moment I had long
waitied for, there sat 'Atomic' , although she was looking somewhat lost, surrounded by trucks and
containers!
She was unmarked and my worries about the battery were for nothing, even the windows didn't
require a re-program!
No sooner had we left the docks than she started to wow the guys, be it at the gas station, passing
a high school or at the shipping company offices. My parents were astounded how much attention
Atomic got...I was not!
The journey home was steady and uneventful. As the car is not yet UK compliant, I took things easy
and simply enjoyed being behind the wheel. The on set of rain prevented any photos (not that there
were any real photographic moments to be honest!) and heavy rain, winds and hail saw her stay
tucked up next to the house yesterday.
Up at 7am today and the neighbours must have had final proof of their belief of my insanity as I started
to wash Atomic...in the dark! Time was limited and I had layers of Florida dust, sea salt, road salt
and grit to carefully remove.
I actually hate washing cars, a negative wind chill and biting British wind tends to disperse any
possible enjoyment, but I achieved a very good result which left me happy to have taken so
much time and trouble.
You can, however, always rely on the British weather......to mess things up! Just as I was about
to set forth to the Exhibition arena, the heavens opened! Not just a sharp short shower, but a
full blown hour long downpour!
So Atomic was dried off once again and I waited until the last moment to leave in the hope the roads
would dry. Needless to say, the back roads were still soaked, so a third wash was required upon arrival!
The part of the show Atomic is in does not start until Friday, although another section opens tomorrow
for Autosport Magazine, so the Hall was sparse and looking almost embarrassed in it's naked state.
I didn't have time to look at other cars, but a number of other owners said "Hi" and gushed over
Atomic, the engine and performance levels, so I think I will be in for a busy few days!
I took a few quick photos today to cover events, so I hope you like those and I'll start with a
few outside her new English home.

Greetings everyone, I hope this finds you well and having a great weekend?
It has been a busy 10 days here with Atomic making her UK debut in front of around 75,000 people
at the Autosport International & Pistonheads Show, at the NEC Arena, Birmingham. It was a huge
success and it was wonderful to meet so many new people.
I wanted to mark this occasion with the first piece of film footage that will go on to be a part of a
documentary diary of our travels and naturally also took hundreds of photos during the show.
I should really have prepared a speech, but instead went for an 'off the cuff' live take (which didn't
turn out as I hoped) but it's still nice to have a record of the event, even if I am a bit of a
poor 'presenter'! :o
To see the short film and to read more about the show and other recent events, please visit
http://www.c6zo6.co.uk/content/category/13/75/95/
The video is in the 'An Audience With 75,000' post.
I have now added a lot more to the website, so please visit http://www.c6zo6.co.uk and view the
'GLOBAL C6 JOURNEY' Index on the left,
I have also finally had a chance to upload all my photos of the Journey, so if you have time or the
desire, please also check out the new Gallery on this link http://www.c6zo6.co.uk/AtomicUK
Here are a few images from the show to whet your appetite.
Atomic was delivered to have to UK light conversions Thursday and with the government test
booked for next Tuesday, so I 'hope' to finally have her ready to drive all over Europe from the
end of the week.
So I hope you enjoy the Gallery, the Movie promo etc and I'll bring you details of the next trip shortly!
Cheers for now.

While I await anxiously news as to whether Atomic will be free and legal to roam the roads
this weekend (see below), there is still something to look forward to.
Her first trip out on to the continent will be in three weeks and will take 7 days around France
taking in places such as Reims, a fabulous Gorge, the famous Millau Suspension Bridge and on
to the French Riviera, Saint-Tropez, Cannes etc and 'possibly' Monaco as well.
There will also be a stop in a ski region (weather permitting) and finally, back via the Dijon
area, so all in all, around, around 2500 miles of open roads for us to enjoy!
As for this moment, a technicality, as in a government official making a mistake... it means I
may not have Atomic back for this weekend as he delayed the test pass until he'd rectified his
error and the delay was sufficient to mean the paperwork may not be completed by another
government office in time for the planned Saturday collection.
We shall see....

I'm really looking forward to seeing pics from your future travels and it occurs to me that all of us should do more of this. We see some beautiful sights on trips and cruising so we should all contribute more pics of our Vettes in picturesque scenes for us and our friends across the pond that may never get the opportunity to see our great land. Good luck with the paperwork thing.
