Are you parking the car in reverse? Sounds like this was a problem car from the time you bought it. There is a 3 year warranty which takes you into 2008. Take it back to your dealer and have it checked out. If they refuse contact GM customer service. Good Luck!!
My 05 has also been completely problem free.

Here in Texas we have a law called the Deceptive Trade Practices Act which covers the sale of used cars.

If the dealer lied about anything, you have an avenue for recourse. Proving this though will be difficult.

If it were me I'd cut my losses and sell the car, or whatever I could to get rid of it and walk away with my sanity. Good luck to you.

Is the car situated where you can put a charger on the battery for a few hours? Once you get it started, the windows should go up. Otherwise, have you tried to jump start it?

Not mine, got any clue as to how many auto manufacturers out there can actually make a car where the gas gauge works?? Problems in the C5 carried right over to the C6, they don't GAS--e

As many good ones are out there, there are some truly terrible Corvette lemons. Never again will I buy a first-year vehicle. Buyer beware...

Good luck with everything.

I really appreciate all of the responses...i've tried in the past to crank it up and roll up the windows, but they won't roll up...i put a trickle charger on the battery and disconnected the terminals. i borrowed one of my parent's cars and drove back to columbia (since it's raining)...my dad is going to take it into the dealer in Greenwood tomorrow.

I have been to two dealers so far...this will be the third...you can probably search some of my other posts...herndon in lexington is where i bought it from. I took it to them twice for the leaks, and once for the transmission. they were not very cooperative, so i've been taking it to Love in columbia. they've definitely tried to work with me. when it came to the transmission problem, they offered to order a new first gear, but i know some people who know the transmission guy there, and they told me they would never feel comfortable with him working on their transmission...i didn't feel very good about it, so i declined.

i would trade up for another one...but i really don't want to put any more money into this car thing. I keep getting burned every time i think i'm going to get a good one. it's sad, because it's been a passion of mine since i can remember...I guess time will tell...i'll try to place some meaningful calls tomorrow...all the while trying to get a deadline met at work. I'll keep y'all informed

What you need is a full-time advocate to see this problem(s) thru to a conclusion. It doesn't sound like you have the time or know the right calls to make.

Is there anyone out in the CF community who can step up and help this fellow out? We all have deadlines and work to do, but this one really sounds like a winner. Or a loser, depending on what you're talking about.

I have this bad feeling that this is a K-ville (Hurricane Katrina) car, not to be quoting the latest tv show. Even if it isn't, Simon Stern and Erix's posts are very interesting.

Hope you get it solved. GM, if you're reading, I think this is one you need to pay attention to!!!!!

Just saw the post below: find local Corv. club; talk to president. ask who they use. get a name of a person. altho I've got to think that if you're already on dealer #3, you're beginning to run out of dealers to try out.

Goodluck and dont give up on GM yet. Maybe you can find a local corvette owner and see who he recommends.

FWIW, I think that the previous owner of the car along with a dishonest dealership is to blame, not GM. The car could have been very badly abused and in fact it seems like it was. And the dealership, well you know what dealers say... there's a sucker born every minute. All I can say is, unless you get the car new, you can't instantly blame mechanical failures on GM. My Corvette in the 4 months and nearly 1,400 miles of driving it has suffered only 1 minor technical problem.

So how is that GM not wanting to fix it?? As I stated earlier you have a beef with the dealers. Being used you dont know what was going on or its history.

Dont get me wrong, I fully on board with bashing GM when they have done a bonehead thing, but getting worked up over it and misunderstanding (misrepresenting??) the situation will not get help. Perhaps it will get you some sympathy you may want to deal with your current anger, but its counter productive. Trust me, I've been there. Pity parties are all well and good but they dont fix anything.

I agree with you Erix, but i was really not trying to throw a pity party...and i certainly bring my best and freshest face and attitued to the dealer. I may have been a little harsh in saying im going to give up on GM...i really don't think i could do that if i tried. It's in my blood, plus they honestly are the only car company that offers anything that i would actually want (aside of course from ferrari or something of that caliber ).

Truth of the matter, however, i think i am going to get this fixed and move on to something else...and yes it will be a gm product (maybe another vette, maybe a CTS-V) I really hope that it is something like a bad battery or something simple like that, nothing too complicated. i suppose i have been a bit frustrated, that's all.

I think if it were a Katrina car i would be having more problems than this? I really hope that it is something like a bad battery or something simple like that, nothing too complicated. i suppose i have been a bit frustrated, that's all.
