I have a few on my car too, just living with it right now. You'll be surprised at what a glass repair shop can do. Just make sure you get one that specializes in glass repair.
First 5000 miles got a big star chip and had it fixed. Fix OK but could be seen if looked at closely. The next 10,000 miles produced so many nicks and chips that when the sun was low in the sky it looked like I was looking out in a snowstorm. Now I was looking for any excuse to have the windshield replaced. At 18000+ miles took on another attack from an aggressive freeway rock; this one left a huge chip with three small cracks and was the final excuse that I was looking for. Two weeks ago new windshield installed, $1228.40, my deductable $50. Great to see out again , wish me luck in defeating future agressive rocks.
Hey if you uys have chips in your windshileds get them fixed correctly. Will save you a cracked glass in the future. If you find a good glass shop who uses a nice chip repair kit it works great... Dont paint them or put fingernail polish on them this does not help the issue in any way..
Are you talking large chips or the really tiny chips? I have at least 50 to 100 really tiny chips in my windshield. I can only see them when I'm washing my car and my face is close to the glass.
Unfortunatly the small chip that cover the windshield are like sandblasting from the raod. There is nothing you can do for these which is unfornunate because I know they can be irritating. You can buy kits at local prts store to fix yourself but these kits are cheasp they just work ok. Our company only charges 19.95 for a rock chip. Shop around in your area and you might find a local glass shop with a good deal.
use clear nail polish to hide chips fill chips with nail polish remove high spots with a one sided razor blade keeping flat on window will last a long time
Thanks for the tip! I just returned from a 3500 mile trip to Vegas and Arizona. Got a couple of real small dings. They were so small I wasn't going to do anything but they still bugged me. I think your fingr nail polish will do the trick!

I have about a half dozen small knicks after 5000 miles. Not thrilled with the quality of the glass. Nuff said.
Glass ain't bullet proof dude! Any windshield will chip. It's likely that many C6s are moving a little faster than daily drivers when they get hit and that will make a bigger boo boo.
