Where is the best place to get a wheel alighnment for a C6? I'm thinking a tire store, but maybe the dealer would have more experience with the C6.
Have a C6 with the base suspension. The car has 20K miles on it and it is a 2006. There is a LOT of tread on the rear tires, but the fronts are half worn and seem to be wearing more on the inside. I keep a constant check on the air pressure and keep it at 30 lbs. Of course, the cold weather plays some tricks but I have an air compressor and keep them at 30lbs cold no matter the weather.
You might try the dealership. I went with a more 'aggressive' alignment and a couple of my racer friends suggested I go to the dealership (telling me they do excellent alignment work). My dealership has all the latest equipment and a special alignment 'team' that really takes pride in what they do. You get the computer printouts showing the 'before and after' alignment specs. My dealership did great alignment work.
Find an Independent shop that does SCCA track cars and explain your driving habits to them. DO NOT use the Dealer, they'll set it to "Factory" + or- specs. Use a national "Chain" store only if they have 'Vette experience.
My '05 Z51 was set to;
F camber -0.4° both sides
F caster 7.8° both sides
F toe 0.09° both sides
R camber -0.4° both sides
R toe 0.00° both sides
$100 and about 1 1/2 hours on the alignment rack. When I replaced the tires I had equal wear F to R and side to side.
