Ok guys, I realize some of you rode the short bus. Curb feelers on a vette. Man, when one guy hits the tunnel, almost all of you put those same blinders on and just follow down that tunnel vision road. My vision is fine. I'm talking about the FRONT curb...... THE FRONT CURB. When I park I get out only to see that I've stopped two or three feet from the curb. All it takes is one hit to the nose.

AORoads, thank you for thinking for more than 3 seconds to reply because that is precisely what I'm refering to. I know they have stereo's that have the input capabilities of having a "reverse radar". IE warn you that your about to back into something and wanted to know if anything was out there for the front of your car. Also, Victoryred 08...excellent idea for the side curb as well as Fcal but I was refering to the front of the car, not the sides and I apologize...I should have explained more. It seems like everytime I park either pulling in or backing up people are staring wondering "what the heck is this guy doing? He get's out of the car, then back in, then out etc", but LS WON via Viprklr wins the prize! Not only was your explaination comprehensive, but easily understood...Thanks, you solved my problem. However, I would like for OneSickZ06 to give me the beeping sound and also hand signals would be a nice touch as well.
The one thing I love about this forum is that I think just about every vette owner is a member and there is never a shortage of opinions/suggestions. I've been on this forum quite a bit (boss loves it) and I am amazed at the knowledge that you guys have! Just wondering if anyone else has this concern.
I realize I'm from Texas, but dam......

I'm not THAT stoopid

Come on now, you know I was joking. I can't help it that everyone else ran with it.
I don't see why you couldn't use a backup sensor for the front. Of course you would have to do some custom mounting but I think it's possible. Like this one http://www.backup-sensor.com/buy_now.htm

Good luck in your search

I grew up in Beaumont...You'd fit right in with these on your Vette!
BTW...If you ever need a tow, call my uncle at Chuck's Wrecker Service.

A friend of mine purchased several of the little wireless camera/monitor units from Costco. He installed the first camera under the nose so that he can see the cement parking stops and not ride up on them. The other is mounted in the front wheel well and is aimed at the curb. He set them up to share the same monitor (switches from one to the other via toggle switch) that is mounted to his visor. Since he never drives in the rain, he doesn’t worry too much about getting mud on the camera lens. He has found it to be very useful and has saved the paint and wheels on several occasions.

Well, I've tried and tested LS WON's theory and it works perfectly for me! Everytime I stopped,I was about 8-12" from tire stop or concrete stop or whatever you call them. woohoo. Anyway that for all the opinions and suggestions, I'm gonna hold off of the dice feelers for now
