I love mine and i think it looks great. I didn't buy it to stop the wind in my hair, heck I hardly have any. I bought it to keep my wife happy. It cuts out about half the turbulence and helps with the wind blowing her hair all over the place. The secret is you get to drive with the top down more often when the wife's with you.
Also, you can go topless in much colder weather and not freeze various body parts.

The GM wind screen takes about.... 5 seconds to install / remove after you do the initial installation. However, you do have to get out of the car to do it. And it takes space in the trunk to store it.
I had the Dealer install mine at an install price of about $80.

I never use the Vette Net when I am alone, but when wifey is with me it goes on. Gotta keep momma happy!
If you want to reduce the amount of wind put the top up. I just don't understand why someone would buy a convertible if they don't like the wind in their hair.

I always wear a cap and never had one blow off yet. Don't need to talk to the wife that much. As for the radio even with the top up once you over 30 mph can't hear it for the road noise from the run flats.

I hear my music with the top down and the net on... At highway speeds I put the windows up and I can hear my music clearly, have a conversation with a passenger and not worry about the wind/ turbulence blowing my cap off.

Are you saying that you actually drive with the top down and the windows up?

What's the prejudice against this? I do this all the time. Contrary to popular belief, a convertible CAN be driven to a professional meeting, work, or maybe just to dinner with the wife. Or maybe I just have hair, maybe that's it.
Plus it's nice being able to put the top down in 40 degree weather on a sunny day.
I really really just do not get why when someone asks if the windscreen works well there are always a couple of guys who jump in forcefully and tell the rest of us how to drive our verts. "You put the windows up with the top down?!?!?!?!?" "You use a windscreen?!?!?!" "You're not a real vert driver!!!"
You have to read between the static. If you ignore the negative one-liners and the "ME, TOO!!!" replies, you'll find a lot of good advice.
I'm still listening. I'd like to know if the screen is a (semi)permanent install or whether it has to be taken off every time the top is put up. And if it has to be taken off, how long does that take?

The GM screen has brackets that are permanently installed with low voltage wiring to trigger a warning if you attempt to raise the roof with the screen installed. Yes, you have to remove the screen to raise the roof. It takes less than 5 seconds to remove the screen but you have to get out of the car to do it (and store the screen in the trunk).
I do not have the Vette Net product, but understand that the brackets that hold it in place are removed along with the screen each time you remove it. In my mind, this would eliminate the initial installation of the brackets, but be a bit more cumbersome each time you install/remove the screen. I would also think there is potential for rattling and scratching the paint finish, but others seem to like the product. Both systems require you to remove the screen to raise the top.
I only use my screen if I will be cruising at highway speeds for an extended period of time, OR if the Mrs. is along with a hairdo that needs pampering... I agree with others that the Windscreen allows me to lower the top in more conditions (cooler temperatures or fragile hairdos from Passenger VIP)...

I'll just say there's a reason they made it so the windows automatically go down when you put the top down.
I have had convertibles for 25 years and been married for 15 years. In the last five years she has not wanted the top down. Since I bought the C6 she has acquiesced more often, but only at times when a baseball cap messing her hair didn't matter. I'm thinking a net may be just the thing.
It was a beautiful day in Dallas today. I had the top down all day - can't hear any music at xxxmph. Hey theat just gave me a thought. Is the net super secure? Can you drive (relatively) fast and be sure it will stay there?

Thanks.
I can only speak for the GM wind screen... it is completely secure. Lets just say I have exceeded the speed limit on more than one occassion without even a rattle... it's a good product if you need it.
I think everyone is forgetting how ridiculous these things look. I've heard the comments from people when they see a vert with one of those silly things sticking up.

To each his own. It's as ridiculous and silly as any other exterior modification. Widebodies on a vert, emblems, LED taillights, screens, stripes, wheels, powder-coated calipers, license plate frames, exhaust tips, etc...
