I was just thinking today..what makes a corvette a car that so many of us are obsessed with???
It is just a car like any other. It has a motor, tires, brakes and everything else that any other car has.....but...it is not just another car.
How did this all come about??
I sometimes treat mine better than my wife and children!! That is insane, but to us who are "infected" with the vette virus, it makes sense.
I think we all need counceling.
Glad I got that off my chest. I feel better now!
OBSESSION: Recurrent and persistent thought, impulse, or image experienced as intrusive and distressing. Recognized as being excessive and unreasonable even though it is the product of one's mind. This thought, impulse, or image cannot be expunged by logic or reasoning.

bang for the buck- try to beat it in looks, handling, acceleration, and braking for the price new or used. I have tried. There is no other option but a vette for me.
There's no explaining it that's for sure.......just sit back and enjoy it. I thank the Lord that I have a wife that encourages my obsession with our Vette. That makes all of the difference.
But you're right- it's not . . . It's playing in the Pro's when you're in little league or the NBA while playing high school round-ball . . . it's the Farrah Fawcett poster come alive.
I think it's got to be the price...no other car in the world delivers such an incredible and unbeatable package as the Corvette for such a reasonable price!

the same reason other people are obsessed with other cars....most car lovers treat their vehicles the same regardless of model....corvette owners are just smarter with their money when it comes to performance though
My wife says it's just a car but after 47 years she understands me and doesn't complain.
Married 47 years also and have always had a Vette. My friends ask why I still drive them and my answer is, If you never had one, don't get one because you will be totally unhappy without one again. Tried it for 2 years when I could not afford one and bought a 87 Grand National. Fantastic car and cheap to create horsepower but it was not a Corvette and never will be. You will never be the same again without one in your garage. They are addicting.
So one day I'm at home and my wife is at work and she calls me says asks what I'm doing. I tell her I'm in the garage polishing my tailpipes -- and say no, that's not a euphemism!
She sighs and says for the 1,000th time -- you really do love that Corvette.
Yes, it's an obsession.
I beg to differ...with all due respect it is not a car like any other. It may have a motor, brakes and tires like other cars but that's about where the similarity ends. I look at my C6....I drive my C6...it is not your average car.
