Why the obsession??
At the top of the page, it said: "If you've wanted a Corvette since you were a kid . . . . "
The car was pictured in the middle. And at the bottom, just above the bow tie emblem was written:
"Then you've waited long enough!"
That's all it took for me.
Amen to that. I have been a car nut for nearly 50 years, I can't explain it, I just am. The Corvette exemplifies everythng I want in a car, handling, straight line acceleration, image, cool looks, cool looks from those looking at it and much more that I find hard to put to words.
The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
The other cars are a necessity - DD's used to haul groceries and get to work. The Corvette is a luxury, a toy, or as the insurance company calls it "a pleasure vehicle".
But the obsession has less to do with the actual car, and more to do with what it represents to it's owner. It's like being on vacation everytime we get in it to run to the convenient store.
She is different. she turns me on to no end. I think about her all the time. she is smooth as silk. she is sexy. We're still madly in love. and what a rear.
Oh, and the same goes for my woman too.
Thanks to Rich something or other who worked for my dad. He gave me the disease and thank goodness there is no cure!
Too bad he wrecked that car two months later.
It is just a car like any other. It has a motor, tires, brakes and everything else that any other car has.....but...it is not just another car.
How did this all come about??
I sometimes treat mine better than my wife and children!! That is insane, but to us who are "infected" with the vette virus, it makes sense.
I think we all need counceling.
Glad I got that off my chest. I feel better now!

We as Vette owners, as we all know put alot of pride and time into our cars and want them right or as perfect as we can get them in our eyes
it's just we have an item other than a family member that we put pride in. It's something we've longed for and finelly got it.When you put it in prospective with daughters, they want the best cell ph, clothes, jewelery and when you do the same with boys it's their Play Station 3, X-box 360 and so on, and as far as wives are concerned they look at it as imature or mid-life crisses. ( or in my case, she just says, 'you have too much time on your hands'.
) If you think about it when kids are on the phone or playing a game they tell us to be quiet, get out, not now, or just ignore us. Isin't that true ? They need to remember that next time dad is with his toy.
That is what I do with my children and they somewhat understand, or say 'whatever'. I think maybe its a parent that has spent X amount of time with their kids through the years, then all of a sudden a Vette comes along and Dads time is with the car so they feel left out.
Okay you can try to include them as I've tried in the past and they have gotten bord and pretty much walked away. I guess you can't win for loosing.
Okay, now I'm babbling and sounding like Dr. Spock. I don't mean to just speaking from experence.
I don't think things will ever change we as Vette owners will always obsess about our cars and that's just the way of life...............
But when it's our family time, or it's time to take care of our family, the Vette is on the back burner. ( Covered up safe and sound.... In the garage
)
