Unless one implies more into the term "heritage" than something simply descending from a predecessor, heritage doesn't quite do it for me. It has to be more to inspire an obsession.
IMO it's the great performance of the C6 coupled with its classic styling and beauty. The C6 is a gorgeous car and it's a proverbial blast to drive...that works for me.
My first love was a Jenson Interceptor(anyone remember those?). Snapped your head back....now that was a car, but ever since I can remember, it's been a vette. In fact saw a ferrari today, heard it before I saw it and sure, if I had the dough, wouldn't mind one of those, but it doesn't give me the thrill of seeing a vette...all vettes. Theres this huge red book I brought.."Corvette, America's Sports Car. Yesterday. Today. Tomorrow". Fantastic insight and wonderful pics..anyway, on the cover there's the actual vette emblem and I can't tell you the amount of times I have thought of ripping it off and putting it somewhere on the car......................yes, it's an obsession.
It's all about the look. There are plenty of cars on the road that have more HP but they dont look like a Corvette. The Corvette has always been a drop-dead sexy car in every year they were produced. They stick out, in a good way, from the rest of the crowd which gives a lot of people an affordable chance to have a very special and beautiful vehicle.

I've owned three generations of Corvettes. The C4 I bought (used) off the showroom floor because it was the prettiest thing I'd ever seen. I had it for seven plus years, but it wasn't a good car for trips. The C5 I bought so I could go on trips and take along a passenger (and their luggage). It was very comfortable and had every amenity, but it seemed really big after the C4. I had it for almost 3 years. I bought the C6 in February and it makes me feel like Goldilocks, "this one is JUST right". Small enough to feel intimate, large enough to take trips comfortably and more oomph than any car has a right to.
I liked to go out in the garage and look at my C4. The C5 just kind of sat there and looked OK. The C6 puts a smug smile on my face every time I see it. Yes, that beautiful hunk of muscle and sex appeal belongs to ME.
