Yep, Had another conversation with Bob, and you are right, they are the silver Split Spoke GM Wheels from the factory. He sends them to be triple chromed, and then resells them for almost half what the factory charges on the window sticker for chromes.

I would rather pay a little more to get GM Wheels than the ones made in China.

West Coast Corvettes does a chrome job on factory split spokes. $895 exchange for a set of four.

One other thing.....I have a set of the China made Z06 reproduction wheels that I got from WCC and the quality on these wheels is as good as anything I have seen. All the offsets and widths are identical to the stock wheel. I am extremely happy with them. $995 a set of four outright.

Don't knock the china made wheels too quick though. The EPA has a lot to do with the chemicals involved in the process of chroming a wheel in the USA. From what I've heard, not as strong a finish as chrome coming out of Japan or China.

Not intending to knock China, you are probably right about the chroming process over there, I just feel more comfortable with the GM wheels.

I like the hood stripe. Where did you get it and how much? Is it good quality that will last?

So the only to get Bob's price for the GM wheels is to have a stock set to send him? Or, will he sell the GM chrome ones with out a trade?

He will sell the GM Chromes without a trade for almost half of what the factory charges on the window sticker.

Well that seems like a good deal but I went back and re-read this thread again and someone stated that GM never carried the split spokes in chrome is that true? If so, what was their price for them?

GM never chromed the split spoke 08 wheels they are only available as after market.

I paid under $800 for my set and they look great as you can see above.

They do look nice on white. So your are repos? Did you have to use offsets to mount them and do you notice any change them while driving?

GM won't chrome the OEM splits because they say there is not sufficient strength after chroming. I doubt the after market wheels are any stronger.
