I've got the square ones. Thirteen bucks each or there abouts at the local BMW dealer (in stock). I leave mine in too. I thinks it more a matter of how do you get them out once there in?

My stupid jack puck didnt even fit the hole on my jack. Luckily I have a big grinding wheel and custom ground the tab to fit. The hockey puck would have saved me money and trouble.

I have accidently left them in after use and they've stayed on just fine, but I would strongly recommend against driving with any pucks installed, as they could do some damage if they fell out while the car's in motion.

Buy a couple of hockey pucks, go to Lowes or Home Depot and get a piece of PEX (black, plastic, flexible water pipe). The size is approx. 1" in diameter - but it fits snugly into the hole in the Corvette frame rail. Drill a hole all the way through the two hockey pucks with a drill (hole cutter, forstner bit, what have you) the size of the PEX. Shove about a 3" length of the PEX pipe through the hole in the hockey puck. When you press the part of the pipe that extends from the hockey puck it will fit firmly into the frame rail until you remove it. Very simple, very easy, very effective, very inexpensive - way less than $10.00.
