OK quick version of my story, Hit a Semi trucks recap in Mississippi, and the tire slapped my valve stem ( Sensor ) Broke completely off. Indicator tells me tire is flat. Went to a good year and got it fixed. Tech said should reset itself in 30 minutes. Its be a few days past 30 minutes. So if anyone knows how to fix or reset this please let me know.
The tech should have known that you need to use a rest tool like a Bartec or equal to excite the TPS. Look in your owners manual how to put the car in the learning mode while using the reset tool.
Frankly, if you're not changing from your street wheels/tires to your track wheels/tires every other week there is probably no real need to own a TPMS tool. You can go to about any Discount Tire store and they'll reset your tire pressure sensors for free (I would call ahead to make sure though).
You can also contact Wright Tools in Troy, Michigan (248)643.6666
Before you rush out to buy a TPMS tool, I suggest you PM BEZ06 and talk with him. He is very knowledgeable on the subject and he might have an available TPMS tool himself.
