Running without the neck waddle?
I'm not being a "smart azz" just trying to understand the rationale.
I'm going to just take it off, and if ever that creates a problem, I'll just put it back on.

PS. Airflow related cooling issues are typically experienced at low speeds or at idle. A spoiler has no effect under these circumstances. If ever I see a noticeable increase in water temp at highway speeds (very highly doubt it), I'll reinstall.
The only potential adverse effect that I can see, might be a very minor reduction in highway MPG, as a bit less airflow will be diverted from under the car. If I lived in Germany, I'd leave it on.

The air dam on a C6 is a designed part of the cooling system, it causes negative pressure behind the radiator to assist in pulling air thru the radiator instead of under the car. Might not make a difference on a low mileage car since the cooling system is 100% but it will make a difference under extreme conditions or extended mileage.
It's a cheap replacement part, let it scrape.

however, isn't the term "negative pressure" incorrect? I believe that is called a "vacuum" or a point of lower pressure relative to another
Your air dam can take the scraping but if you can't...take it off. Live life on the edge.
Occasionally my air dam scrapes but not enough to bother me. I'll leave mine on.
For the most part, it will emphasize certain algorithms to 'tighten-up' the steering/handling of your car (it's not a ride height adjustment).

Every once in a while, I take a piece of 200 grit sandpaper and and knock down the curly-queues and smooth out the deep scrapes on mine. Looks darn near new when done - the hit it with some tire dressing - waaah-laaah!
Since you removed it have you noticed any problems with temps with high or low speeds so far? I have a C5 that Im fixing up that doesn't have a air dam and I need to know wither I should buy it or not. Don't want any extra costs...
