Problem with forum vendor
I used Redline for my Torch red C5, and his stuff matched very well. But I could see the yellow he is using is not close to VY. So I ponied up the extra and went with DSV. I am very happy with the color match, and workmanship.

Color not matching constitutes a problem in my book. And falling back on their fine print to keep the sale at the expense of customer satisfaction...well, not smart business. Let them cater to car owners with "generic" leather interiors then.
I for one think that this thread is informative. If you want good match then don't go to this vender. This would help me decide which vender I want to purchase from and who I don't. At least people who choose this vender will know what they are getting.
At least I got to see all this information before it go locked.

Been there, done that; search old threads on this vendor.
What happened to satisfaction guaranteed? I purchased an ebrake boot from redlinegoods.com and it was a good quality, but didn't match my interior as well as I hoped. I contacted them and asked to return it and they advised they don't accept returns. I definitely won't be purchasing from them again. Anyone else have problems with this vendor? I'm not trying to just bad mouth them, but the only offer they made was to purchase another one at 25% discount. Not very happy at all.
I'll be going to DSV for the rest of my stuff, but I still feel that color not matching constitutes a problem. Their site says they will SOLVE THE PROBLEM for free. The only way to SOLVE the problem in my book is to issue a refund, which they refuse to do.
I am not bad mouthing them, I am informing the audience that the colors don't match and they do not do what they advertise they will do. They state they will solve the problem, which they refused to do when I asked them to.
A 20% restocking fee is outrageous. They also should have tried to help the guy out. If they can't make the GM colors, they ought not be selling them to GM owners. Also, I would say that their return policy should grant him a return. There is a problem with the product. It doesn't match the stock GM colors.
Cross them off the list. I would rather do business with folks like DSV who goes more than the extra mile for the customer. I, too, have had it with poor customer service.
And, IBTL, because I suspect that the ranks will quickly close around a supporting vendor. Let's see how long it takes?

I do, too. It was quite awhile ago, at least a year and probably more. But there was an issue, just like OP, and Redline's case was made that they don't claim to have exact colors.

So what Im getting is: Redline can save you money but the color may be off more than you like. And once you order forget about it, its yours.
Thanks for the post. In my eyes its not worth using them. I dont care if they did warn you up front, to me a miss match of color is their poor workman ship. I dont want to go throught the pain of ordering samples and matching, who is to say that the sample are going to come from the same roll? If its a differant color than the sample than your stuck. I can understand a shade or so off, but they shouldnt even try to send 4 or 5 shades off. How far was the color off?

The one question I have, is why does someone have to pay for the swatches. $8 is not a big deal, but I think you should come up with another solution to solve that issue. I think that will upset some people because they will think why do I need to pay more when I am paying enough. Personally I would not care to pay to make sure it would match, but some people don't want too, and that is where the problem results from.

So are you saying I have to read every post a vendor has ever made before I buy from them. They advertise the piece to be for a c6 vette. It should match in my opinion.
Very wierd... So they claim not to have exact colors, but yet they want to sell to a group that for the most part demands they do.. Maybe they should go over to the Toyota or ford Mustang forums.. They clearly have the wrong business model for corvettes and looks like bad customer service..

I really want to thank everyone for their opinons, differing or agreeing, with mine. I think it's good to educate all of us corvette owners. I am not saying in any way that their product is poor quality. It is a good quality, but it does not match at all to a c6 corvette. When you sell an item for a C6 corvette in yellow, it probably should match the yellow color on the corvette??

Don't attribute thoughts to me that I haven't stated. I understand you are upset.
What many do here is to use CF as a research tool. That means to ask a question about a vendor, or search for posts on a vendor. No different than a lot of other kind of shopping people do.
Next time, that's what you might choose to do. Or not.
