I just turned 26 last week...and just bought my 2nd corvette (as a B-present to myself)....Sold the C5 for a C6....I think any person of any age can really enjoy this car...
NO you didnt buy an old persons car.
Let me explain, the corvette clubs are not a singles club.
They are often for an older crowd because the people associated
with these clubs like to have dinners and other couple events.
The members usually dont have small kids to take care of and therefore
more time to attend.
If you are a young single guy, join a church and join their singles group.
It also doesnt hurt pulling into the church parking lot in a Corvette
either. Join a health club/gym and drive your vette there also.
Word gets around that you own a vette, and the single women will
find out. It doesnt hurt to own a corvette.
I JUST BOUGHT A 2008 CORVETTE ABOUT 6 MONTS AGO ...O YEA IM 38 YEARS OLD ..ALL THE CORVETTE CLUBS I LOOKED IN TO .. )))WELL((( ALL THE VETTE OWNERS WERE IN THERE 60'S AND UP ...DID I BY AN OLD PERSONS CAR ????
Yes! Enjoy it. It took some of us a lifetime of hard work to afford one.
I bought my 07' coupe, a year and a half ago, at age 58. It took me 34 yrs to get this Vette. I sold my last, a 66' vert, in 1973, but, lifes trials and tribulations kept me from getting another one sooner. When I was picking up my brand new Vette, there was a very nice, young man, about 23 picking up his brand new Vette, also. I remember the look on his face very well, because it mirrored mine. Two "young guys" picking up their brand new Vettes. Owning a Vette is pure joy. Enjoy it everyday and welcome to the club.
IMO, 38 is old. So you in fact bought the appropriate car
I'm 25, and I haven't seen a single C6 owner under 40 yet. I get alot of envious looks from 40+ men in their pickup/minivan/camry and when they see how old I am with my Mariners hat sideways they start hatin'. That feels good

I am 33. Old people can AFFORD new Vette's usually. Thats like asking if a Mercedes is an old mans car. Young guys drive used Camaro's, Mustangs, or ricers because they can AFFORD them and would love to own a Vette someday. In fact that is MY personal story. In my 20's I swore i would have a Vette someday. I just didn't think it would be at 33!
On reading your post my immediate reaction was to roll my eyes and move-on but I say congratulations on your 2008 Corvette and I commend you for being enthusiastic enough to join a Corvette club. What do you want to do with your Vette and what was your motivation for joining the Corvette Club? Is your car a daily driver...will you modify it for appearance and/or performance...are you interested in car shows, competitive events...does your Corvette club sponsor competitive events or is it mostly a social club?
My Corvette Club is not just a social club...they hold autocross events, drag races and the odd oval track event. I don't have much interest in their social events, I joined this particular Corvette club to take advantage of their competitive events. I joined other organizations so I can road race which is my real passion.
I'm in my 50s now and I've learned age is relative. I've known 'old' men in their 30's and 'young' men in their 70's. Through my Corvette club, I met and befriended an 'older' man, a former pro sprint car driver and an avid C6 racer who’s forgotten more about cars than I'll ever know. He's always willing to help others. You might find there’s much to be learned from some of these old guys. I know many old guys that routinely 'humiliate' younger guys on the track...don't write them off just because they're older.
Again, I don't know what you want to do with your car or what you're looking to get out of your Corvette club. If you’re there to pickup women you might be in the wrong place. If, however, you’re there to further your specific interests with your Corvette, meet some great people, learn about your car and how to drive it and have some fun in the process, you might be in the right place.
Good luck with your car, your interests and your perceptions.
