No problems here in Central New York - lots of waves from all generations of 'Vettes, and even a few from the infidels. All are cheerfully returned. Here's an article on "The Wave" from one of my old copies of Corvette News:

Guess nothing has changed all that much!

You'll find a lot of C6'ers, including some board members here, are not traditional Corvette enthusiasts and know nothing/could care less about "The Wave". The recent and very world class competitive performance improvements of the C6, to include the Z06, have drawn in quite a few "non-Corvette" automotive entusiasts. That's not a bad thing either as it keeps fresh blood in the breed.

I wave at all vettes. When I had my C-4 i got less waves returned from a C-6 than any others. Now that I have a C-6, they all wave. I also sometimes forget and wave when I'm not in my vette.

Up here in Illinois/Chicago land, I get waved at all the time in the Vette. Honestly I was confused by it at first, but I got better and now I wave too, its a cool bit of Vette culture, there's even a small gathering of Corvette owners at an Ice cream shop around the corner from me every Friday... I even get a wave from bikers occasionally so in the Midwest the Vette does seem to appeal to a lot more people.
Hey! Easy now. . . around here it's the c3, c4 and c5 drivers that almost always wave, and about a 50/50 chance that a c6 driver will wave. Z06 drivers almost always wave, though. I think it has to do with the fact that the c6 is much more refined, and therefore attracts new owners that might be new into the Corvette scene/lifestyle (or might never get into the lifestyle.) As a side note, I certainly see a TON more women driving C6's than any other generation.
But if you think about it the latest generation has the most people that treat the vette as just transportation. usually when the car is older it's picked up by an enthusiast that can't afford a newer one but has always wanted one.
I have a shirt that says "Save the Wave" and has a picture of two Vettes passing with the drivers waving at each other. Wear it to all the car shows I go to. Been waving since the 60's and I'm going to continue waving to other Vettes.
For South Jersey as well ......Save the Wave web site and tee shirts

The wave struck me as odd in the beginning. I told my wife, it appears we have unknowingly joined a fraternity when we bought the Vette. It is all good, I wave at all Vettes now.
I had a interesting situation on Sunday morning that made me smirk a bit. I was in the midst of a "spirited" drive on rt.180 in N.Ga mountains. In the middle of nastly little twisty, I pass 2 Vettes coming the other way, we all found a second for quick 2 finger wave.
