I no sooner finished sending an email to GM complaining about the lousy service on disk updates then I found a UPS tracking number with a scheduled delivery of tomorrow, 12/8. Boy am I embarassed, but then again they deserved it.

Haven't heard a word on mine ordered in September.
I think I will call Monday. I don't care if I get it or not. I just want to be on record so I can complain and get it next Sept.
I just checked GM's NAV web site and they want me to send the $199 for my v5 disks. It was my understanding when I bought the car that I would get two free annual updates (to v4 and v5).
I've never received a post card from GM announcing an update was available. If I hadn't logged onto the web site tonight I wouldn't have learned that those who purchased 2007 models in calendar year 2006 have until December 31 to request their v5 update. After that the upgrade isn't free.

I did get a notification card for my early (July '06) built '07 and it has the December 31, 2008 deadline printed on it in 4 different places. The ironic part is that the card also has a huge title that reads "Now Available for Immediate Shipping!" stretching across the top and my order status has been "backordered" since October.

I just got the card for the 2nd update back in November. I did not get the 1st update card last year and their system didn't recognize my VIN#, so I called them up, registered my car manually over the phone. 2nd card came as stated, still waiting for the disk.
My 2009 came with a V4.00 so I called my dealer and they traded it out for a V5.00 with no questions. I must be one of the luckier ones.
My 09 also came with the V4.0. I called the GMNAV number and the lady told me to have my dealer get me a V5.0 under warranty. I did, but I'm also still waiting for my dealer to call me saying to drop by and pick up the disc. It's been around 3 months now.
I sure do like reading this board. My deadline for the free disc was December 31. I called and got into the queue for the free one. Of course, it might come in 2012 but, it'll be free!
I just checked the site, entered my VIN and noted the charge for the new disc was $199.
My salesperson indicated I would get 2 free updates. Apparently not.
Mine is an '08 bought 8/07.
Anybody else??

Only model year '06 and '07 get free updates. They discontined the program for model year '08 and forward.

I went to the GM NAV web site last night and read that I too was expected to pay $199 for my free v5 update. Unwilling to accept this, I left them a comment. Today I received this e-mail reply from "GMNavDisc@BUDCO.com"
Thanks for your interest in GM Navigation Systems. Here is a copy of your request:
Why should I pay $199 for the second update to my Corvette's NAV disks? My 2007 convertible came with the v3.0 disk in August 2006. I received the v4.0 disk set as an update in January 2008. I just logged onto your web site and it wants me to pay $199 for the v5.0 update. Please correct this and send me my FREE v5.0 update before I get angry.
