Received my postcard a couple months ago for my last free update. Went to the website the same day and ordered the update using the code the postcard provided. About 2 weeks ago I returned to the website to check the status. Entered my VIN and the system tells me I have the most recent version?? I figured that meant that my disc was probably in the mail, but still no disc... Sent a email asking for more information and still no response....
I'm seriously considering going aftermarket in my next Vette. The $200 cost of upgrades is too high. You can buy a whole brand new after market nav system for the cost of one GM update.
As soon as you place the order, it updates and says you have the most current version already. I got confused the first time I saw that too.
The website asked for my VIN number and when I entered it was told the VIN number is invalid. I called them and was told the 2009 update is $199.00. They could not tell me why the system thought my VIN was invalid. So much for customer service!
I ordered in 06, took delivery in Jan. 07 so my deadline is 2009, 1 year away and not 12-31-2008.
Well that certainly sucks. I wanted to wait until the last minute to get the latest updates but this thread had me believing that I needed to order this year!

Correct. The rep told me that if anyone has a 2006 yr model, the free nav disc subscription ends this month.
A 2007 yr model has until 31 Dec 2009 for it's 2nd and last free disc update.

So - no update for a 2008 without dishing out $199.00?
The free nav disc updates were only offered for the 06 and 07 models. Your 08 model should have at least the version 4.00 disc.
If you know someone with a 07 model, ask them for their old disc when they order their update disc next year. I'd offer you mine, but it has already been spoken for.
What I don't understand is why it is on BO. Disks can me turned out like cookies... What's the big deal?
I'm just guessing that GM actually has to PAY the supplier, something they seem increasingly reluctant to do.
Recent reports are that GM is taking 90 days to pay their bills, and the 90 days starts AFTER the bill gets approved and sent to the payment center.
Some members have been known to make copies and send them to other forum members, not that it's legal or right Us '05 owners didn't get any free updates.

If anybody has successfully copied the latest version (p/n 25976806), I'd like to have them contact me. For research purposes, of course!
First, thanks to all on this forum for the heads up on the NAV update. I have a 2006 with the two year free update, but this year did not get any postcard advising me to enter the update info. Per suggestions on this thread, I just talked to the GM Nav guy who said fine, no problem and took my order. I did ask whether it is true that postcard OR NOT, if you do not take the initiative to call or put in your order by December 31, you lose the free update. The guy said that is correct. Also, my update is on back order for quality issues, but I will now get it when available. Again, thanks guys, I would not have known to call without your input.

Ordered Mine Today! No $200. The 2009 Version- Thats exactly what the lady said, "they're testing the disks to ensure proper functionallity."
I would also really appreciate a "test copy" to see if everything was accurate. I have an 05 and when i travel it is so far behind. I think the maps are probably from 04? It has almost got me in trouble a few times when roads have been totally rerouted or changed and I have followed the directions from the nav!! I just think $200 is a little steep for an update disk! If anyone can help me out PM me, I would greatly appreciate it!
Monday I stopped by my dealer and picked up a V5.0 Nav discs(my 09 Z06 came with the V4.0 discs). Today, it was nice and warm, so I pulled the car out of the garage and washed it. I installed the new NAV disc(west) to make sure it loaded, etc. I didn't take the car for a drive, but I noticed right away that the data base had been updated and now all my neighborhood streets are shown. With the V4.0, the streets that had been put in 5-6 years ago didn't show up and older streets showed up but didn't have the street names. Won't really get a chance to check it out until the spring crusing weather arrives.

How did you order an 06 and take delivery in Jan 07? Last 06s were built in June of 06 and 07 deliveries started in July 06. Last order date for an 06 was May 25 06 - the date I ordered mine.

Really strange. If you go up a few posts to my earlier one on the 26th, I said they told me my freebee was on back order, but when it comes in they will send it. Today is the 30th, four days later, and it showed up at my front door. Go figure...
