Default Winter Blues!

The new year is here and I have the winter blues. My '08 Z51 is now put away for the Connecticut winter. I will leave it garaged and coverd until at least April 1st. My house has been on the market for 8 months, trying to relocate to Florida, I want to spend my retirement driving my Corvette, not looking at it covered in the garage. I hope I get over the winter blues soon...I know it could be worse....

I know most people say "its only a car" and you should take it out during a nice winter day. And they are correct, because its one of the best made cars. They aren't made with the old fragile materials that they were back in the day. The fiberglass body panels aren't going to rust from the salt on the roads. So wait for the snow to melt, and take it for a fun drive, then run it through a car wash, and put it away for another couple of weeks. It will quench that desire to drive your baby, and I guarantee it won't hurt your baby a single bit. I grew up in CT and spend over 21 years there, so I know there are some winter days that are drivable. Good luck, and have fun. It isn't a 40K car just for the looks. They are actually made of some pretty tough materials.

Is going to be a chilly 68 degrees here in AZ today! I'll take the vette out today and go on a spirited drive on behalf of my Corvette enthusiasts comrades who cannot.

It's 30 today in Chicago (no snow cover) and I'm going out later, just like I did yesterday. The heated seats and exceptional heating system keeps me quite comfortable. The car handles nicely even in the cold.

Driving it every chance I get.

We are a blustery 78 at the moment. Tough choice on raising the top or leaving it down for the ride. Come on down to Florida you won't be disappointed.

Both Florida and California sound good for weather.

Unfortunatley, the nice weather can't overcome the huge problems plaguing California today. Our economy sucks and the government is in disarray. The roads are in even worse shape since they've decided to use transportation funds for social services and other expenses. You can't relax while driving since so many other drivers don't have a license, don't speak English, and can't read street signs. I used to enjoy driving but now it's often more of a headache than it's worth. I especially love all the illegal alien landscapers with their gravel, tree branches, and other junk falling off their trucks. Yeah, this is a great place for driving.

Twenty years ago this was a nice place to live; now I sometimes wonder if I should move elsewhere. The problem is, I live in one of the better parts of the state and might run into the same problem elsewhere.

Rant over.

Close the border, make my tax dollars go to services for people who legally deserve it. It sounds harsh to those who don't live here, but you have no idea how bad it is getting. Our state is bankrupt and getting worse every day

But hey, if anyone's looking for a free place to live, free health care, and front of the line to college, all on the backs of others who work their *** off and get taxed half their salary only to receive horrible roads while other humans with no financial contribution to society multiply with no consideration to the impact on the economy, California is the place!

Socialism at its greatest. Rant over.

Ummmmmmmmmm....back to the original idea here?
I feel your pain, OP. We've had over 70 inches of snow in the past week and a half!!! I am running out of place to blow it off the driveway, as the drifts are now getting close to 6 feet on either side......AND its going to get down below 0 tonight (with a wind chill of ---- oh, about minus 20 or so) after being above freezing all day today, so the slush is turning to really sharp and bumpy ice...just loverly....

I often wonder how long people can remain that stupid ( left wing anti -Americans). Can't they see the mess their way of thinking has caused? Of course the North East isn't much better.

Anyway I want to move to warmer climate very bad,but I hang around to be here for my parent's sake and they refuse to budge.

Same here in Michigan, I've had mine put away for a while. But, it will be brand new when I take it out this spring.

I've been in Arizona pretty much full time since the mid-1960s but I'm from Michigan originally. I feel for those having to hibernate their cars for the winter. Hopefully, you have other things to keep you happy until the snow melts. Good luck on your house...I hope you can make the move soon.

BTW, it been blue skies and 70 here in Tucson for the past several days but it supposed to chill down to the mid 50's for a day or two.
