I started the car yesterday and saw this message for the first time in the DIC and was amazed and shocked at the same time. Amazed that the DIC has such a message to warn us of hazardous possibilities on the road, but shocked that there may actually be ice on atlanta roads . Anyways, I just kinda smiled thinking of how awesome this car really is.
Actually I thought it was temps below 36 degrees set warning.
Not sure if it is in the manual or not but I've seen it come up at 34 degrees before. Also, have started the car when it has been below 32 and it did not come up.

Could be. I didn't bother to look it up in the manual. I just knew that a temp. of 32° would trigger it. I was just pointing out that it was a result of outside temp. in front of the radiator.
Nice feature. Unfortunately we see that all the time here in NY.
My son's 20K Jetta actually has a little snowflake with an exclamation point that does the same thing.
This car tells you everything. Messages like "ice possible" and "abs active" and "headlamps suggested" may seem a little silly, but there are some people who would be dead now if warning notices didn't clue them in on their surroundings. Nonetheless, very neat!
I have seen this several times. Most of the time NFW there could be ice except in my Sonic drink. What a worthless waste of engineering time and dollars. They should have spent it on interior upgrades.

I laughed when I saw the message here in Phoenix. Only once in the last 6 years has the temp even been down to 32. The bigger chuckle is because there is no water here to freeze.
It probably took the programmer less than a minute to write the code to access the temperature sensor and create the message.
It also probably required 30 hours of higher level committee meetings to make the decision before the programmer was told to do it.

I have a friend who picked up his 8 year old son at his ex-wife's for the weekend. He took his Vette because his son really gets a kick out of the car.
As he pulled up in front of his ex's apartment building, the DIC displayed "Ice Possible".
