Trunk Lock Assembly Missing
Thanks FAÇADE-C6 for the car parts, you were right it ended up being the one for like 154 bucks.
I ordered the part today, hopefully to get it in early next week. Next i need to attempt 2 things:
1. re-key the lock cylinder
2. install the lock cylinder
3. different tools??
Any tips or pics for when i do this. I dont want to take off the rear bumper. So any pics or diagrams on the install would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, you guys have helped me out so much already.

In that thread is info about how I swapped an auto pull down latch into my 2006 Z06 that came with just the manual latch.
Scroll down to post# 56 to see a couple pictures of the key lock assembly.
The manual latch in the 2006 to 2008 Z06 and in the verts have a different lock assembly and cable than in the coupes with the auto pull down latch, so I had to swap out my original key lock assembly and cylinder for a different one.
I did the entire swap by reaching through the tail light holes, so you should easily be able to install your key lock cylinder through the holes.
I drilled out my old lock and then I used bolts to reinstall the new one - so you should be able to do the same. I had to drill out the rivets holding the entire assembly in the rear fascia, and also the rivets holding the key lock cylinder to that metal plate that attaches it inside the fascia. You can see the pictures where I've bolted things together instead of using rivets.
I had my old key lock cylinder, so I was able to swap it into the other assembly so that I could use the same key in my cockpit and the rear lock. You don't have the old cylinder, so I don't think you're going to be able to use the same key that you use for the console and glove compartment.
I think the only way you could probably be able to use 1 key for all the locks would be to get an entire set of new locks for the console, glove compartment, and the rear lock that all were set up for the same key. I think you're going to need 2 keys. However, maybe there's some way a locksmith can rework the cylinder to work with your other key.
Good luck!
Bob
