One of the knocks on the C-6 has always been the interior. As a quick fix Corvette could use the steering wheel from the discontinued XLR and offer Recaro seats as an option. These two changes along with the 4lt interior would go a lomg way to silence the critics.

at least the center console and dash lost the cheap plastic. the '08
is a huge improvement.
I certainly like my 08 interior. I still think it can be improved, but overall I really thought the quality was rather good. I do wish that there was a vendor out there that could color-match JSB though. I hear that DSVettes is working on a new color that is supposed to be a good match, however it is about 6 weeks out in the future right now.
The seats and associated leather needs improvement. 4LT uses the same leather just more of it. Center console is an elbow killer. I ended up buying a replacement from DSvette.
The Navigation is a joke. If I could do one thing over about ordering mine-It would have been to delete the Nav and install an aftermarket unit. It's hard to believe that the XLR is made in the same factory and they couldn't put that unit in the C6.
In comparison to exotics the vette's interior could use some work. Its just fine for me though. Actually I think my 08s interior is great! Im just a regular middle class guy though.

I have an 2008. Overall I am very pleased with the car. If I was going to purchase a $100,000+ ZR1, I would not be happy with the plain-Jane steering wheel from a Colbolt. Caddie offers Recaro seats in the CTS-V so why not Corvette?
The xlr is a upper 80k car,it seams to me if you change ever thing people want to change on the c6 you may have a lot less people on the corvette c6 forum.I like the way it comes ,more people can afford it,and then if you can afford to mod it. It also helps vendors make money.

I think that silver plastic was what everyone was bitching about. In 2004 when I saw my first C6 I could not believe that G.M. put that cheap looking silver plastic in the Corvette. The 2008 interior upgrade, the LS3, and all the other upgrades made the difference for me.
I have the 4LT interior and I'm very pleased with it. The steering wheel? Seems pretty darn nice to me. Seat? Again I like the seats and find them comfortable. I know the knock on the seats came from some of the very overweight auto writers. But, who really cares about what some slob that sits behind a desk thinks? All the Vette owners I know have been happy with the seats. Now that crazy hardrivin1 guy is a different story.

I have a 2008 1LT and came out of a 2001 loaded Camaro. I like the Vette much better than the Camaro, I think it looks great just the way it is, seats and all.
I believe the issue with the seats involves recrash testing the vehicle since the airbags are integrated in the seats and the car is different than the CTS. Obviously GM is not going to embark on recertification of this vehicle at this time.

The Recaro seats on a CTS-V are an option. The CTS-V is a very, very limited production car. If crash testing is a problem, then how can you justify using the Recaro seats on a very limited production CTS-V when I'm sure Corvette sells many, many more cars than the CTS-V?
Some of the forum members get so defensive whenever they think someone is saying something negative about the Corvette. I'm not criticizing the Corvette, I'm just suggesting we have an option on purchasing Recaro seat that would shut up all the magazine editors.
