I traded my MY Z06 Vette for a fully loaded Metallic Silver Challenger RT.
It was time. I remembered my '89 Charcoal/Yellow tint roof and my 2000 Silver coupe as I patted the Z06 a final adios! Yes, there was a "moistening" of the eyes, as there is now as I post this final message.
This has been an awesome place to learn and hang out. I didn't post that often and if I had any "claim to fame", it was that I was one of the first ones to put a C6 shifter in my C5.
You have all been awesome!
Thanks for the memories and one of these days, who knows? I my be checkin' in again.
PS: As we took a ride to a neighboring town 30 miles away, of all things, I came upon a 2002 MY Z06. I swallowed hard...........
Good luck and best wishes. You don't have to be a stranger. There is still OT and Other Cars forums as well as here. We might like to hear about the Challenger, some will certainly talk about the Camaro.

Vette On
Decon/Dennis
Iron Chef (Mike is also a CF moderator) and comes and hangs out with us and goes on cruises with us, previously in his yellow Vette. But now he traded it for a Black Challenger RT and he love it because he can carry both of his kids with him. So don't feel bad, you are not the first. Have a nice day!
I saw the new Challenger for the first time up close about two weeks ago...I hope you are happy with your choice/decision, but I was VERY disappointed in the car. It looked good from a distance, but up close, it's way too big. Nothing like the Challenger of the '70's. Again...good luck to you...I just don't understand the "step down", unless you did it for family reasons.

Gonna miss ya... On my way to the Metra(train) for my evening commute, I pass a tire shop that always had a AO Z06 parked out front since last Summer. Within the last month I've noticed a black/ charcoal gray Challenger sitting in the space where the Z06 usually parked. Do you guys know something we don't?
I got to drive a fully trimmed SRT8 Challenger while the dodge dealer appraiased my prior C6. Was not very impressed. The styling is there, the car looks awesome, it certainly has the "coolness" factor to it, HOWEVER, it felt heavy and somewhat slow compared to my C6 and that was the 6.1 HEMI SRT8 Challenger, not the RT. Handling was no match at all, the car felt soft and swayed horribly when taking curves. Nedless to say, i didnt trade my C6 in. I ended up trading it for my current 2008 MN6 Z51.
Dont get me wrong, the challenger is an AWESOME CAR,, really fun to drive and everyone wants to look at it everywhere you go. I would not trade it for my C6, but I would love to have in in addition to my C6.

The 6.1L SRT8 is NO match for the vette but I understand the need for a four seater and its a GREAT looking car. (the chally was also too quite compared to the M2W)
I love the Challenger. I owned one of the very first ones in 1970, with a 440, and later owned one of the original 426 Hemi Challengers. If I were in the market for a car today, I'd have to give the new Challenger serious consideration. It looks and rides great. It may be a notch below the Corvette in ultimate performance, but it is priced much more attractively, and if you need a 2+2 it really has no competition.
