Man, has something major happened to them (credibility, service, etc.) recently now with all of these stories? Didn't seem that long ago that they were basicly "gold". Hoping for the best.

They clayed the car and buffed it into a huge mess trying to remove it. They were able to remove most of it but the mess they made of it in the process was unacceptable. I told them I wanted another car and they wouldn't even talk about it. They went so far as to tell me they wouldn't even take the car as a trade because they wouldn't want to to sell it. There's a lot more to the story that I'm not going to get in to. Needless to say go over the paint IN THE DIRECT SUN with a magnifying glass if neccesary before you sign any paperwork.
Didn't even get off the ground when I tried to deal with Kerbeck. Left multiple voice mails and sent several emails to Dave and never received a response.
You should check out Sport Chevrolet in Silver Spring, MD. I've had dealings with Scott Egloff and they were all positive!!

I bought my car from them and it was the easiest most straight forward car buying experience I ever had. I told them I wanted all paperwork ready to go when I got there, and told them not to even try selling me add on garbage, and I wanted to spend 15 minutes inspecting the car and driving it and be out the door without any salesman bs.
I rented a limo and took my dad with me to get the car (he loves Vettes, but never had one), everyone was very friendly, knowledgable and easy to work with. Price was exactly what I had agreed to on the phone, car was prepped, filled with gas and perfect when we arrived.
Take your car to the Laurel Carmax. Be ready to sell right then if the price is OK. You need to understand the wholesale value of your car, which is probably lower than you'd like. After the visit at least you'll have a baseline. Then take the fairly pleasant drive to Kerbeck in your trade-in car. 32 to 50 across the Bay Bridge, then up 301. It can be a pleasant drive, especially in the nice weather.
I bought at Kebeck and drove my new car 1,100 miles home but I didn't have a trade in. Pretty smooth transaction.
similar to the OP's comment. I called a few times. Ended up getting with Wes at Reliable. He crushed Kerbeck's numbers.....dave and british accent guy didn't even bother calling me back.
GO for WES!!!!!!!

I had a great experience with Kerbeck, both Dave's helped me out...Ordered an '08 and was kept abreast of the status during the entire process. Will but from them again. Sorry to here about your experience.
a dealer and sales staff still operating as if gm is having another banner year.
JUST use the internet checking with other dealerships, and you'll get a better idea of what a good deal is. BE PATIENT,THEY ARE BLEEDING NOT YOU!
poor GM and labor and bondholders and suppliers all scrambling to save GM,but in the end many of the dealerships sabotage their efforts.

Try Sport, Criswell or Damascus. I bought my 06 at Damascus, although the Sales Mgr whom I worked with is no longer there. They matched Kerbeck's price.
It is generally true that Kerbeck does not negotiate on price, but they do tell you up front for everybody to see what their price is. No bait and switch or hidden fees. When I was there with a trade-in the made me a reasonable offer. The low end of reasonable, but not what I would call a low ball.
On any given day somebody might have a car cheaper. The question then becomes is the cheaper car the car that you really want or do you just like the price. If it is what you want then you will buy it. If not you might pay a bit more for what you do really want.
In my experience Kerbeck has been completely reputable. I have bought from them and been very pleased. I have also bought elsewhere and when possible try to support my local dealer.
makes you wonder how they got to be the biggest corvette dealer in the U.S. I had a similar experience with em... hung up on the guy.
Cormier Chevy in the Los Angeles area is the largest Vett dealer on the west coast. Usually have 90 to 110 Vetts in stock. Their prices were basically sticker price when I bought my '08, so I went elsewhere and saved $6k. And it was not just 1 salesman, I checked back with them 2different times, because I wanted to buy locally incase of warantee problems, but no dice. I asked them to match the deal I came up with and they were still about $2k more. I have checked with them numerous times over the years, and they are always on the high side. How do they stay in business?
I think it's interesting how those giving negative opinions of Kerbeck seem to command the spotlight giving the impression that everything about the dealership is bad. Just tallying up the responses thus far indicates 50% of the respondees giving a definitive opinion like Kerbeck and 50% don't. The majority seem to be editorialists without any direct experience with the dealer.
1. Kerbeck is hard to work with if you have a trade.
2. Volume pricing / Good for someone looking to buy and get local service.
3. Little if any customer svc / Volume based business.
Not sure what the big deal on the trade-in is? Most dealer are not nit picky when it comes to trade. If they have a sucker willing to take about $10k less than what the market is willing to pay for the car, they will do it.
If they are making the trade seem like a good offer, then they are making up for it on the selling side. No dealer is going to give you a fair trade-in value. There is always a catch.
