Best Illinois Window Tinter?
Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone had a good shop recommendation for window tinting in Illinois (Preferably Central Illinois but anywhere will do). I know the rear window can be a real bitch to do and only someone with Corvette experience can do it right...

Last I heard, in Illinois it's illegal to tint the windshiled or front side windows. That leaves you with tinting only the rear hatch. Of course we all do things that aren't kosher, but you might have trouble finding a good tinter who is willing to do anything but the back.

I've been looking for the same thing for my windows. The guy that did previous cars/trucks for me retired. I've been in contact with a guy that has a mobile service and will do the tinting at your house. It's ceramic tint, so I'm still waiting to hear a price from him. If all goes well I'll pass his information along to others in the midwest section.

It passed both house, but Speaker Madigan now has 30 days to send it to the Governor, and then the Governor has 60 days to sign or veto the bill.
So, not out of the woods just yet.....

Make sure you go to someone who has tinted a corvette before. My rear window looks like crap at the top. I'm going to take it to a real tinter who says he has to shave down the little bumps at the top of the window and then apply tint. If not then it will look like crap. I'll post a pic so ya'll can see.

Hands down best tinter in Illinois is Nino at Umbra Tinting. They got me in morning after I called, had it all done in a matter of hours. I also had them install a clear protective bra. His name escapes me now but he did an absolutely fantastic job on that as well. My car is black and it's nearly invisible! Prices were below what I expected and they were really cool and nice to converse with while I waited. They even took pictures of my car and put it on their site!
5% Rear
30% Side
Bumper, Hood, Headlights, Mirrors, Quarters Clear Bra
All for around $700

That is incorrect. Glue is not the only way to get the tint to adhere to the dot matrix system on a Corvette. I have seen many done absolutely perfect. It will however take a very good window tinter to be able to do the job correctly.
