Good thing the top was off and the hatch open or we'd have to be explaining where the slot is to use the key and that you can open the door with a pull in the back rather than crawling through.

If I had to guess.....insurance fraud. Someone that would steal the car would strip what they want out of it and leave the carcass on the side of the road. You rarely see anyone steal a vehicle and drive it into a lake.
