Hm....maybe it's their design then, but they certainly look small.

The tips are too small also. Way too small.

I think the tips are just the right size. Christ, I don't want to look like a ricer with 8" cans.

Default Well...

The NPP are BIGGER than stock.. there is a big difference. Also look great polished... No drone at all when closed, on a A6 that is important.

Well that's good that they're 3.5"...something about them just doesnt look right to me then I guess. Maybe it's all of the hardware you see behind the tips that makes them appear smaller than they are.

I didn't buy the NPP exhaust for my '08.

I wanted an awesome muscle car sound at all speeds - so I went with the Borla Stingers.
I love the sound of the exhaust. Best mod I've made - by far.
When I'm just casually cruising around town, it rumbles all the way.
When I get on it, it'll shake the neighborhood.

The only drawback is that you can't turn the sound off on the highway - which is the ONLY advantage of the NPP.

I also like the look of the Borla tips MUCH more than the NPP.

Are most folks installing these themselves? I took a look at the DIY section, seems pretty involved.

If I cannot sell and move up to a newer year, this is the first change I will try to make.

I didn't like all the silver hardware behind the tips either and as soon as I got the car home, I painted the hardware flat black. Now all you see are the tips. The tips are the right size for me. Now for puny tips look at a stock C5.

Then change the batteries in your hearing aide. It's that sound at 1500 rpm.

Long story which happened last year as short as possible:
- I saw an ad for an 08 1LT CRM Z51 on sale
- Went there and negotiated more
- Bought it
- Activated XM and Onstar
- On the way out saw an 08 1LT CRM Z51 NPP
- Returned the car
- Deactivated XM and Onstar
- Paid $1K more
- Bought the second one
- Activate XM and ...

I had the NPP on my 08, pulled the fuse so it would be open all the time. It still seemed to be lacking, not so much in sound volume but moreso in the sound pitch. It did not sound like a V8, more Ferrariesque. I wasn't very fond of the sound at all.

Starting the car next to my wife's Dodge Ram with Flowmasters, you could not even tell the Corvette was on.

Talked to the wife and she agreed that the Vette needed some more bark. We went with the SLP Loudmouth I, because if it was too loud, we could always replace the mufflers with the LM II for a couple hundred and sell off the LM I's.

The SLP exhaust really woke up the car. It still sounds more European, but it definitely added more of a bass rumble to the exhaust. There is some drone between 1200-1500 RPM's but that is easily overcome by shifting at a slightly higher RPM or driving faster on the freeway.

Would I buy another NPP? Probably not.

NPP for me. It makes sense to be able to have both worlds. Add Mild 2 Wild and you can have quiet if you wish or a bit loud if that's what you want.

I have a 08 LS3 M6 with a HP tune. Had Corsa Sports installed and enjoyed them but heard the ZO6 NPP's were louder, So I purchased a complete 07 ZO6 exhaust system and Ed's NPP in a box. I love the h-pipe deep rumble over the oem 2.5" x mid pipe. The Npp's with valve closed is wisper quite and no drone. With them open alot of drone but it stills sounds good

With the valves open it's a little louder that stock. However, it seems that the Sports were louder. Btw - I did a tune once I got the ZO6 system on and we did back to back runs with valve closed and then open. It made 402 rwhp closed and 411 rwhp open.

So, I'm having the ZO6 muffler mod done tomorrow so I'm hoping that if will give the advertised results. ( ~40% louder with valve wide open)
Thanks, Dewman
