Did you retune after the Z06 exhaust swap?

Yes, gained approx 15 rwhp in the mid range, and 10 on the top end.

prior to ZO6 had 405 rwhp and 395 torque
after 415 / 404.

Best part - gas mileage increased from 15-16 mpg in town to 18-19 mpg.

NPP is fantastic. If you want to get rid of the drone just get an insulation kit and leave it on. I used Exotic Vette's. Got rid of the tunnel heat (at least most of it) also.

It is REALLY easy to do.... You can take the NPP cat back in the back of your car to a muffler shop... most will swap in under an hour for $75.

You can install the Mild to Wild Retro kit, in under an hour... took me about 1/2 hour... they make a nice kit, pretty easy to do. Best mod yet.

I have Npp on my 08 and very glad I did. I would order it again! I have no intentions of replacing it.

Another here with an '08 ordered with npp and added m2w who is very happy that the sound of the exhaust system can be controlled at the push of a button.

A friend purchased his '08 with standard exhaust and changed it for one of the aftermarket "performance" systems. He now regrets it very much when traveling any distance at highway speeds due to the constant noise level in the car.

My concerns exactly as well as drone with the A6. My NPP is being installed this morning by a local shop who knows how to handle our Vettes. I will be installing the kit myself in the next few days. Until then, the flaps will remain open, it should be fun.

I just did the NPP in my A6 car. You made the right choice. My car has headers and with the butterflies open it is race LOUD! On the hwy it would drive me nuts after a while(sound is subjective of course). When closed it is no louder than the stock cans through headers. Npp gives you the best of both worlds. Jekyll/Hyde.

Had NPP and went Aftermarket.

That being said, I heard Borla was/is experimenting with a m/w switch (NPP) on some of their products. Best of both worlds I guess (keeping the wife happy). I may go back...if only to reproduce that Borla Stinger (aka: Aggressive) sound.

Red Cell.

I just had mine installed, I can't believe how much larger the tips are and you're right, they are sweet looking. I'm going out right now to polish them with my SonOfDreams kit.

I haven't insalled the kit I got from SunsetOrange yet (this weekend) and I can tell you they are loud and on the highway would drive me nuts as well if I couldn't tone them down. Added a whole new dimension in driveing a Vette that sounded like it was a performance car. GM should make this exhaust standard, probably could cut the overall cost.

With m2w installed its really pretty cool to experience the difference in exhaust sound when cruising at highway speeds. With the tips open there is a definite "drone" sound, but close the tips and its almost like the engine quite running...the difference is that noticeable.

I personally don't plan on doing too much track time with our '08 (did that with the older Vettes in my younger years); I was just looking to control the sound of our car and thought npp was the route to go. If I was looking for all out performance, who knows what we would have hanging on the car for an exhaust system, but for having fun with our C6, there isn't anything better than npp with m2w.

Just had the ZO6 muffler mod done. WOW What a difference!

I decided to keep the sound deading material in after having the straight thru pipe welded up. It's perforated so by sealing that up more exhaust note gets thru. Btw - it's quite as ever with the valve closed. However, with the valve open I estimate 30-40% louder over stock ZO6 Npp's. Alot more poping when you decelerate. Hardly any drone either. Cost $250

So if any of you are interested in doing this mod and live in Central Fl., come on down to Lakeland Fl. and See John at TMEC.

Thanks, Dewman

The NPP is definitely worth it. Cruising with the valves closed is super nice, no drone, no noise. When you want the sound, it is there! Great sound when wide open throttle, quiet when cruising. Best of both worlds. If you want complete control, you can do the M2W mod or just pull the fuse when you want noise and put it back when you don't.
The aftermarket exhausts are nice and sound very mean, but if you are like me, you'll tire of the drone and racket pretty quickly, specially on trips. I use my Vette for traveling and if I leave the fuse off, it really gets tiresome. It's not too bad with the roof off, but with the roof on, it's pretty annoying after a while. Since you basically have 2 exhausts in one with the NPP, you can have your cake and eat it too.

Personally, I would not change my NPP with any aftermarket system unless I decided to not cruise in my car in 6th gear any more . No kidding, I would only like a louder exhaust if it came with an option to silence it when needed.

The solution to that is simple and easy, take a can of flat black spray paint to the hardware; it makes the tips stand out by themselves, especially if you polish them.
