I had one alongside of me...looking at my Vette.. and I was looking at his car... He was an older gentleman and asked if I know how much pollution my car was emitting? WTF ...
I asked him if he knew how much traffic he held up going UP hills with his under powered car? (Yes I was PO'd)
Then he said I think my car can do anything yours can, at a lot less expense... again WTF....
So I said lets see you do this.. (I drag race my car and has line lock)
I hit the line lock button and proceeded to completely engulf BOTH cars in tire smoke.... then I proceeded to ask him to duplicate that,., AND get 27 mpg like I can get...
YES I KNOW it was immature, and not the smartest thing to do!
But it was a secluded spot, no other traffic etc...and As "Flip Wilson" would say...
"The Devil Made Me Do It!" I will donate $25 to Green peace to make up for my indiscretion ...
I "AM" sorry...
How arrogant and misguided that old man was. Many of the so called greenies are the new hippies that believe the earth is their God. I actually feel sorry for them in a way.
The sad thing is they want us to pay for their beliefs out of our pockets.
That's funny. The other day I would swear that they were making a Prius commercial or something.
1st incounter: On Hwy 237, there were 3 of them all white taking up 3 lanes driving side by side, nobody could get around them as they were driving below the speed limit.
2nd incounter: On Hwy 35, on 2 separate occasions, They just cut over into the left lane without checking to make sure it was clear. Causing people to do some serious breaking.
3rd incounter: 2 other Prius' ran Stop signs causing me to take evasive manuevers. I thought to myself, go home and park the car inside. Don't come back out for the rest of the day.
Later, I decide to walk down to the corner store and pick up a few things. Prius runs a stop sign again. While I am in the crosswalk.
They must have had it out for me that day.

Call 911 and report that incident if it ever happens. Impeding traffic is usually a traffic law infraction and if the eco-whackos are trying to garner attention, at least let them pay for it.
You can't "sense" what Prius drivers are thinking.
I have noticed and sense that this board has a huge chip on its shoulder about certain other cars, and people here tend to assume an awful lot based on awfully little.
Damn if that isn't the truth. I've never seen so many sensitive cry babies in my life until I joined CF. "Hey, some jack *** in a mercedes stuck his toungue out at me! He's so jealous!" or, "My mind reading skillz are telling me prius owners are thinking bad thoughts as I drive by! JEALOUS!!"
Most, if not ALL, people on the road don't even know you exist, much less take the time to ponder judgments on what kind of car you own. Well, unless you're a goober driving a vette making those very judgments and are hypersensitive to other peoples "thoughts".

With exceptions. Who really knows what another driver is thinking? I will say that Prius owners and SOME of the greenies that own them have a attitude. You really should check out that South Park episode. The writers of that show did not come up with that concept out of thin air. The episode has a hint of truth to it.
I say if someone wants to pay all that money for a little s**t box more power to them. In a free country what you drive should be an individual choice.
However hassling me in any way for my choice or preventing me from choosing is where I draw the line.
I am worried that with the Gov owning the car companies and the I'll decide what's best for you Messiah in charge someday my choice maybe limited to what color is my s**t box going to be?
So drive on little greenies but keep your attitude to yourself and stay out of my way!

We have had enough of some trying to make the USA like France.
I feel most Prius owners enjoy the self-perceived 'statement' of driving a Prius. Many have a holier than thou attitude and consider Corvette owner’s akin to the anti-Christ, however, after reading the real truth about the Prius I find their attitude ironic.
Even Toyota agrees with this.
They did a marketing study on their cars and owners a few years ago and released the information in an internal memo. Prius owners were said to be more interested in being "seen" driving a green car than they were in actually saving the planet. They were said to be self-centered and wanted to bring attention to themselves.

And like Al's son, you can haul your pot around in your Prius.
If know a couple people that considered buying a Prius as a way to save money and I quickly showed them some simple math comparing two cars. The Chevy Cobalt (14,990 Base 37/30 MPG) and the Prius (22,000 Base and 51/48 MPG) Taking an average of the gas mileage and assuming 12,000 miles a year and 2.50 for a gallon of gas, there is a difference of about 300 dollars a year in money spent on gas. To make up the price difference for the base models you need to own the Prius for 23 years - $7000 Difference Divided by $300 a year. Needless to say those same people went out a bought a nicer car for less and still feel they are saving more money than if they owned a Prius.

Ask yourself this: Do you remember, specifically, what cars you drove by on the way to work today? Vaguely, if at all? Most people are lost in their own thoughts while driving.
I think, with a fair amount of certainty, that this thread has more to do with the OP wanting to express his political view points on others. Apparently he wanted to debate the toxicity of the priuse's batteries with an owner and didn't like the response he got, then he took that as "attitude". So he comes in here and creates a thread to get some moral support.
I don't pay much attention to cartoons and what messages they may be trying to make. Ah, the good ole' days when cartoons were more about falling off cliffs and being blown up with "ACME" dynamite.
I see a common theme between hybrid owners and Vette owners. I own one of each.
So far, in the land of the free and the home of the brave, we are able to choose what we want to drive. I pay no attention to those who feel they should advise me what I should drive (and abhor government noodling around with my driving), its personal, and I am not interested in making a statement with any vehicle I drive.
What Vettes and hybrid commuter appliances have in common is that they are both built for a purpose. Vastly different purposes, but each great purposes. I drive a hybrid Civic to work, and a Vette when its fun time. The Civic does the heavy mileage gobbling, and all the gas money I save fuels the fun time.
Not all Prius drivers are self centered eco **** types. My business partner owns one (I park my Vette next to it all the time!) and She is ok.. like someone said, she just likes to be seen in it.
But... there are a few that take it too far. And.. on occasion, I have fired similar nonsense back at them.
Case in point.. a Prius driver was sitting next to me at a stoplight. He asked me why I didn't care about the planet. He caught me at the wrong time and I answered.. "I don't know but I might be able to think more about it after I get my baby harp seal interior installed".
Stupid.. I know.. but the look on his face made me laugh like a lunatic when I pulled away from the light.
The calendar may say I am almost 40 but the brain sometimes still says I am 17.
