Bitter regret that they bought a remarkably slow and hideous shoe box. The MPG novelty wears off soon after they realize theyre getting passed by buick driving grandmas and soccer moms driving dodge caravans.

I feel most Prius owners enjoy the self-perceived 'statement' of driving a Prius. Many have a holier than thou attitude and consider Corvette owner’s akin to the anti-Christ, however, after reading the real truth about the Prius I find their attitude ironic.

I think that sums it up.
Was attempting to discuss the "battery issue" with a prius owner ... and it was like getting a vegan to talk about protein shortages... the batteries are more toxic and anything but green, than any of them will admit.
Have to freely admit, I enjoy driving my vette. I drive safely, believe in driver courtesy and drive according to the conditions.
I noticed and sense that prius drivers seem to have an attitude with a vette. Anyone know what I am talkin' about?????
I know what you *think* you're talking about.
You can't "sense" what Prius drivers are thinking.
I have noticed and sense that this board has a huge chip on its shoulder about certain other cars, and people here tend to assume an awful lot based on awfully little.
I've noticed them driving 55 in a 70 zone clogging up traffic more and more. I go by in the Vette @ 70 getting 29 mpg just loving the car. To bad for them.

So they're not that much different than Corvette owners, then?
Until it was totaled this spring by someone T-boning me, I drove a Prius as my daily driver/winter car. I bought it because I thought it was a neat piece of technology, not only with its hybrid system but with options like bluetooth phone access and keyless entry that weren't available on many other cars in its price range at the time (2004-2005). Not tremendously quick, but when I felt the need to drive quick, I had a solution, my Corvette. I certainly enjoyed the fuel efficiency, but I didn't buy it to make a "Green Statement."
I'd suggest people not generalize based on car owned.
As someone who has a Camry Hybrid AND a Corvette, I am in a unique position to talk to both groups. In some ways, I find the two groups similar. For one, they both think of the other with distain, believing the others are smug elitists. Neither car, in reality, gets the gas milage they are listed with...they get better, especially when driven correctly.
In my experience, Prius owners are generally less smug than Corvette owners. In fact, I find many Corvette owners far more smug because they feel they have the best of both worlds...a very fast and fun to drive car that gets great mileage. BTW, I do not disagree with that either.
Most Prius/hybrid owners I talk to are just trying to save gas money with a sensible and reliable car. They, in general, are very likely to be really into ways of further improving the fuel efficiency of their cars by "hypermiling" with a variety of driving techniques and tuning strategies.
Ultimately, I see these groups as more similar than you might think but I have never heard Prius owners "hate" Corvette owners as Corvette owners "hate" Prius owners.

Why not? "Generally" speaking what is being said is true. No, it doesn't pertain to every single owner, but that doesn't mean the general statement isn't true.
There have been many hybrid models of non-hybrid cars that have not sold all that well, and believe this or not, but there have been studies backing up my statement here - they have not sold well because nobody knows they are driving a hybrid.
Many people who buy the Prius are buying it to make a statement about how eco-friendly they are. That is not to imply that they don't care about it's economy, but they still want everyone to know it.
The latest rage in Hollywood is for big name entertainers to show up in front of the various awards red carpets in a Prius so everyone can see that is what they are driving.
