That's kind of an open-ended question. Are you planning on using the stock head unit? Are you planning on replacing any other speakers? Are you looking for more clarity in the door speakers or do you just want more "thump"? In other words, the more details you can provide regarding what your goals are, the better we can respond to your question. Tell us what your end-goal is, and we can better advise you.

Thanks

I replaced the head unit with OEM but kept the amp. I just want to add more highs up front and a little more bass wouldn't hurt. I don't want to make any other changes.

1/4 stick of dynamite, definitely the quick way, if you don't mind the slight mess it will make.

Speakers are terrible in these cars. I will be replacing the entire system in my 06. Good luck with yours. I haven't done it yet and don't know the exact procedure, but it can't be too hard.

I wouldn't reccommend just changining out the 3.5" without a whole system redo. The OEM systems are pretty well sonically balanced using the supplied speakers. You might get lucky, but just swapping out to aftermarket drivers, is a crap shoot. Usually OEM's are much more efficient and probably 2 ohm. Aftermarkets usually need more power to drive and mostly 4 ohm, giving you another volume level hit. If it's more treble your after, look into a small tweeter add on kit from places like Parts Express. I put some of these in my C5, front and rear. The Bose system was still awful, but at least it had some treble.

Just did mine with Boston Acustics. Sounds FANTASTIC and took about 20 minutes. So easy, even I could do it let me know if you want the DIY...Good Luck!

Guess I just got educated a bit. Knowing what you guy's are having good result's with and 4 ohm, may just try the swap myself. My system has the dash mounted center channel driver and usaully like them in past installs. Curious why to disconnect it.
