Default Are we Stingrays too?

I am not talking about any moded C6. Not like Rossi et al.
Do YOU see a Stingray in your C6 Vette? I see it in C2, C3, C6 and Concept C7.

I my option we are, when I had my 1976 C3, the last year that the Sringray badge was used, parked right next to my 2008 C6 I noticed the similarities. So yes I can see the Stringray in my C6.

Folks, I am so glad I am not the only one seeing Stingray in C6. Thank you all.

Default Beach scene

It is very obvious when you photo your car on the beach. It has stingray written all over it! It must be the ocean.

Mine however photographed on a 2700 ft Arkansas Mtn resembles a razorback wild hog.

I remember reading that when the C-6 was in concept the idea was to mimic the "Stingray" front quarter panel gills, fender profiles and general outline of the car. The big debate was the exposed headlights. I guess we all know who won that issue.

Default Stingrays

I do not see anything Stingray in a C6. Also, the Stingray was a designation used a long time ago and has no relevance to today's C6's. And I for one am glad for that. I have had a '54, a '59 a '61 a '72, a '91 ZR-1...and I believe only the '72 could be identified with a stingray moniker. And, none of those could hold a candle to the C6 except for the power of the LT5 in the ZR-1. The ability of that motor to take the worst beating you would dare treat it to is legendary. Possibly the best motor Chevy ever built, and they did not even build it!

Yup, I see it. They both have four wheels. What an uncanny resemblence

I guess we each see what we want to see. As much as I liked the first Corvette Stingray's I admire the C6 for what it is....and IMO it's not a Stingray/Sting Ray.

I took my brother for a ride in my 08 and he commented on how much it looked like a Stinray from the inside looking over the fenders. It really is more noticeable from the inside looking at the fender lines than from outside the car IMHO and his of course.

And I think they did a good job.

Wow! A clean example. Thanks for sharing Bad_Brad.

RussellZ, I like your taste on silver color, chrome wheels, and mud flaps. If no-one flame me here I also like the "Stingray" writing on your fenders.

Looking over the hood and seeing the tall front fenders is very similar to the C3's. What is missing, IMHO, is looking through the side mirrors and not seeing the tall rear quarter panels of the C3's.

All Vettes share the same DNA.

You can see it from almost any angle of the car without trying too hard. Even the StingRay styling cues.

The marque has and will evolve, hopefully with continued grace style.

Corvette is the key brand, not Sting Ray or StingRay or Stingray or whatever. The Grand Sport, Z06 or ZR1 mean more to me as significant brands/models than the Sting Ray brand ever meant.
