Is your driver seat uncomfortable?

If you have the sport seats, you need to look at the lumbar adjustment. It will cause the problem you mentioned if it is not adjusted correctly.
I have the sport seats, and have done 9-hour drives, no problemo. But you have to get the danged thing adjusted right for your body.

And I am not alone in my criticism. My wife loved the '97 base seats and the '02 sport seats, but can't stand the '06 sport seats. We just ordered one of those gel cushions for her side of the Vette. By the way, she's 5' 6" and 120 lbs, so again, weight and girth are not an issue!

I am very interested in the outcome.
Once you have this done, please do a thread on the results (your impressions, cost, time, etc). Photos would be a plus.
I would be willing to consider aftermarket seats if they incorporated the same (or similar) controls and airbag from the stock seats. If someone sold an upgrade kit for the stock seats that included better foam and higher quality leather skins I would be all over it.

...with all of the above!

Well DSV seats will soon be available, and us that are unhappy w/ stock seats will have a oppurtunity to upgrade.
I didn't expect high grade leather, but GM could have given the seats more support ( ex. lateral )
I do realize that overweight owners would most likely have issues w/ sportier side bolsters, and that may very well have something to do w/ GM's current seat. GM perhaps tried to make a seat that would appeal to owners of all sizes and shapes.
It would have been nice if GM offered true sport seats as an option.
But who knows what they would have charged for the option, just look what they charged for the 4LT. But atleast they offered it.

I have to put my 3LT seat all the way down, otherwise I'm staring directly into the windshield header.
And unfortunately I have the width to go with the height, so my rather substantial a$$ gets sore after a couple hours.
My winter project is to have the lower cushion rebuilt by a local custom upholstery shop.
"Normal" sized passengers like the seats and the heaters are great for driving the Vert in the cold months.
