How do you do a burnout in a stock 6 speed? How dose one keep the front wheels from moving while doing a burnout?

haha really?

hold Traction control/active handeling button down for 5-6 seconds until BOTH ARE OFF

then rev to say 2k-3k and dump clutch in first grear as you left foot comes off the clutch, let it go right to the brakes, but DO NOT stop on the brakes, just get a feel where it will hold the car, but not to much to bog the car at the same time.

Well, see, first you rev it up to just about 6500 pm...then you dump the clutch....then you kiss your azz goodbye!

j/k - don't try this unless you get a tutorial from Raazor first!

If you have never done a burnout on a manual trans car before, I would seriously recommend you practice on another V8 rear wheel drive manual trans car other than a Z06 if that's possible.

First, make sure your warranty is still good, then pray GM don't see this post.

I will say these cars are a little different at first becasue the rear brakes are much stronger than most cars i have raced before. but its not rocket science. its still just a stick car. with 3 pedals, turn off the nannys and play with it.

If you want to sit in place and burn your tires, install Line Lock. In a Z06 you don't even need to dump the clutch, just turn off the traction control, have a lot of open, and safe road in front of you, and punch it as you take off from a stop in 1st gear, you will light up the tires.

I haven't ever done a burnout but don't you want to drive through some water first for less traction and getting the spin going.

Let me see if I have this straight. You had a 69, an 01, a 03, a 05 and an 08 Z06 yet you dont know how to do a burnout? Serious?

Is a "stock 6 speed" a manual or an automatic?

Get the rears on wet groud if possible, Rev to about 3000 - 4000, dump the clutch, apply the brakes "lightly" just enough to keep the car from rolling. Keep your revs up.

For more show: While still doing the burn out, ease off the brake pedal verryy slowly and the car will start to slowly roll foward while still smoking up the tires.

Default Wheel Hop

What is the secret to not having wheel hop when you do a high speed take-off? I had an RX-8 that would beat itself to death with wheel hop and I have also noticed that the C6 has a horrible wheel hop as well.

Gee whiz, these cars have so much torque you don't even have to try. They do it on their own pretty well.... at least if you have a manual 6sp.

Break out the bong, smoke a 1/2 oz., and you should be pretty well burnt out.

A better idea might be to NOT do burn-outs with your own car and just go watch someone else do burn-outs. This way you get the thrill of experiencing live burn-out activity without wrecking your own car.

If you want to experience real driving thrill / challenge, practice accelerating fast from a stop WITHOUT spinning the tires. This actually takes practice and is a useful skill. Why anyone would want to do the opposite and burn-up tires is beyond me.

Maybe go to a drag strip and watch some race cars do burn-outs, inhale some tire smoke, get it out of your system that way. Then you won't need to abuse your car and / or risk instant catastrophic failure like breaking an axle or differential if you should encounter nasty wheel hop or whatever.

The last time I did a burn-out was back over 25 years ago in an old Firebird, I did several burn-outs and then broke a rear leaf spring, over-heated the tranny and did some other damage... the next day I couldn't help but think how stupid I was for purposely abusing and breaking my car.

At almost 500$ a tire if you can afford that coould you send me a little of that. Like they said take it up to about 2200 rpm turn off traction control and let clutch out and the skinney pedal to the floor and just look in your rear view at all the smoke.
