My new 2010 Ford Taurus has a sytem called Sync that has Blue tooth and many other voice control commands available. Cost is zero, no extra charges at all.
Yeah, but that's a Ford. If you want a common feature for your Corvette that is found on every other car, its going to cost you!
For $40 you can pick up a BlueTooth speaker and clip it to your visor. They work great and solved the problem for me on another ride that didn't have BlueTooth.
I was just about to shell out for this when you reminded me I have one of these and it works pretty well, I just need to charge it up. Problem solved.
I installed a CoStar BlueStar unit in my 05 when I purchased it in November last year. It works great and I love the way it totally integrates with the audio system. You can do anything by voice command that your phone supports. Installation took all of 10 minutes in my car. Unplug the OnStar unit and plug in the BlueStar unit. When you get an incoming call, the radio mutes and when you end the call the radio comes on again. It is a bit expensive, but (to me) it is worth it. The guy who sells them gives great support as well. No other hardware or changes are required on your car.

just realized this is an old thread.

anyone know anything about this unit?
sounds great....
I too have an 08 C6 and was actually surprised it did not have Blutooth. I got one of these Blue Star units and absolutely love it. You do need to give up the On Star, but that isn't a negative to me. The unit is easy to install and quick to program. I have an iPhone and can use all of its functions, including Siri.

Put it in my wife's C6 convertable,it doesn't get any easier or better, sound quality is exceptional. I'd just like to know where those that have it are putting it. No room behind the stiff carpet.

I double face taped it to the factory onstar VCM which on a 2011 coupe is located above the passenger side kick panel , only place for it because you need to unplug the wires that connect to the factory onstar and connect them to the costar unit
I have since retro fitted my car with factory Bluetooth ......
The Bluestar 2010 looks nice. Anyone know where the OnStar module is located in the convertible?
In the trunk, under the R/H storage compartment. You pop the storage compartment door off, pull back the FWD edge of the plastic storage compartment and you'll see the OnStar module. Unplug and remove the OnStar module and plug the same connector into the Bluestar module. There's a pretty good youtube video on the whole procedure. Close everything back up and you're done.
Blue tooth was the only item missing from my '08 that I wish I had. I installed the Bluestar and am very happy with it. I had a little trouble with it connecting to my iphone and posted here about it. I was told to email Chris at Bluestar, I did and he fixed my problem the next day.
Very happy with the Bluestar system.

This is a super easy fix if you have XM in your car. You would have to stop using the XM in favor of your bluetooth though. I ended up paying for spotify so I could stream anything I want and have Bluetooth voice control. Cheap and easy install. See link.
on my 2006 the onstar equipment is attached to the windshield next to the rearview mirrror.
That is just the antenna , the unit is either under your seat on older cars or above the kick right kick panel on newer cars and in the verts it is in the storage area in the back
